Geez Gomez. You have to be smart enough to stop there and not let him tag you.
He stumbled when he went to run on the pitch. Didn't have a choice.

EDIT: Didn't stumble but bluffed the steal

I would debate that Gomez was in nowhere land. He had a chance to get around Ugla and beat out that double play. So I would say that was not a case where he should have stopped. However he should have got on his horse and tried to get around that.

That has nothing to do with what I'm talking about. He had to stop before Uggla got the ball and have Uggla make the decision to either throw to 2nd (which would've made Counsell safe at 1st) or throw to 1st giving Gomez a chance to get to 2nd. Instead he just ran right to Uggla and let him tag him.

Man, we should let this Yovani Gallardo guy start more often. He's pretty good at the throwing thing.

But I guess either way even if he gets to 2nd safe they still get the out at first so I guess either way he should have stopped. Just think he was there before he could even think about stopping. Like I said, his speed killed him.

yea, even though there was some questionable baserunning, i like the gomez pinch run/play in center field sub.

please let gallardo hit this inning.

This is the type of pitching performance I think we can plan on seeing a fair amount from at least our top 3 but maybe even Narv dog too! I really think they will take the team on their shoulders a lot this year. I hope I'm right because it would be fun to watch!

what happened to Heyward? My Gameday skipped right over him? Maybe I'll reload it.

edit. Ahh I see now... pop out and a caught stealing.

We'll take it. Looks like a rocket to the firstbase side in the boxscore.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Popped a ball up about 1,000 feet in the air and about 45 feet from home plate.

98 pitches for Yo. Do you let him out there?
Under normal circumstances this early in the season, no. When you are 0-4, need a win desperately and have a shaky bullpen, yes. He gives you the best option to win the game.
