Is there acountability in professional sports anymore? Gomez should be benched tomorrow for that, but instead will occupy one of the most important spots in the lineup.

The funny thing is that he might have been safe but there's no way that base is worth trying to take if there is any real chance of being thrown out.

That's the whole thing. Reaching 3B with 2 outs in near meaningless with Gomez's speed. And that's even ignoring who he's hitting in front of.

I think it would be much easier to bench him if Plush was healthy.

Well, at least we are perhaps a week away from the media no longer sighting the low team error count as evidence that the Brewer's defense has been good.

you do not bench a guy for trying. It may be stupid but bench him? We have not hit tonight and now everyone is looking to make excuses I guess. Just like the Wolf stuff earlier. Like he is the first guy to ever demand something in pro sports. Come on now.

Which would make benching Gomez even more of a mistake. He shouldn't be hitting 2nd but he should be the starting CF without question.

Yes and a balk and a steal of home, infield single and a lot of other things that when added up, doesn't occur often enough to compensate for the chance of ending the inning.

Oh how I'd love to see either Hart or Lucroy in the 2 spot tomorrow. I understand Gomez probably needs to be playing right now since Morgan is out, but he has to be yanked from the top of the order. I'd rather see him hit 9th and just slide everyone else up a spot.
Everything I've ever known, I've learned from Brewerfan.net....Seriously though

Or the ump missing the call.

I'm gettin' really tired of hearing that. Low errors does not in any way shape or form = good defense. It's staggering to me that a baseball guy like Bill Schroeder spouts that out as well.

i hate it but when the ball beats the runner by that much it's basically an automatic out.

Schroeder also thinks players should swing at pitches 2 inches off the plate with 2 strikes

Braun would of been called out last week if that was the case at the play at home.
