Yeah, it was a good thing our league leading defense showed up in the first or else we would really be in "a" "hole"...oh wait.

The error didn't lead to any runs. I suppose if you include holding runners on base as defense (which makes sense), then you can put some blame there. But I think that was more a case of the astros manufacturing a run with aggressive baserunning than poor defense from the brewers.

I'm also including the infield single, though i didn't really get a good look at it, but I can't help but feel it should have been an out.

that's right, i forgot there was an infield single. i didn't get a good look at it either, i think i was in the kitchen or something....but from what i gathered it was a pretty tough play and bourgeois's speed probably would have beat it out anyway.

 

Either way, if they lose this game it won't be because of the defense.

THIS is the guy RR thinks is our best option batting before Braun and Fielder. How on EARTH am I supposed to respect the guy's ability to manage the Milwaukee Brewers when he thinks that?

The funny thing is that he might have been safe but there's no way that base is worth trying to take if there is any real chance of being thrown out.

How many outs has that guy made on the basepaths the last 3-4 weeks? His OBP is terrible as it is. If you take and add his outs-on-base to it, I'll bet it's about .200 or so.

 

For all his physical gifts, the guy lacks ANY baseball acumen or smarts whatsoever.
