The Magical Magic Number is… (part 1)

hey, hey, hey now!!!!! Stop with the photos of Presidents! Take it to the Political Board!!!!!!

I know I was a pooh-bear about this earlier (when it was 50+) but a 6 game lead in mid-August is pretty exciting. I STILL, however, think it's too early to get too excited. I've seen too many big August leads in my life that disintegrated into oblivion before you knew it.

I completely understand.

However, I have been a Brewer fan long enough that even the chance to get excited is a very rare occurrence. I'm not passing it up.

Besides, I already have enough experience with disappointment to know how to deal with it if it comes up.

While I would tend to agree, it's been 30 years since we won a division. We certainly haven't won anything yet but I'm going to enjoy it. It's fun to think that for a change we actually have a magic number, rather than an elimination number. It's fun to watch the number slowly drop as well.

On a side note, since I brought up elimination numbers. Does everyone realize that Houston's elimination number is now down to 8. EIGHT!!! I know they're horrid but they are going to be mathematically eliminated from the playoffs in mid-late August most likely.

Just bought some tickets for the series vs. the Cubs in Wrigley in Sept. (lots of reasonably priced tickets available on stubhub by the way). I've got my fingers crossed I'll see clincher. Lets see if we can fill Wrigley with Brewer fans for that series.

In the super event that this does actually reach zero. Is it fair game to post as many pictures as humanly possible with 0 or 00?
I expect this thread to get so long Google decides to only search this thread when looking for pictures.

The poster previously known as Robin19, now @RFCoder

EA Sports...It's in the game...until we arbitrarily decide to shut off the server.

I think Robin19's reply above exemplifies what it means to be a Brewerfan poster. Highfive. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Pirates 5, Cardinals 4, 11 innings, on a Garrett Jones blast to the Allegheny River. So...

May 34's reign be brief, in this case.

I refuse to put Nieves up.

I was confident enough to have Li'l Wes cued up. It's been that kind of stretch. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Let's leave Wil Nieves out of this happy thread.

Edit: Dang it! But seriously, if we must revisit crappy catchers of the past, let's aim for Carne Estrada instead.

Thanks to brwrsfan for realizing his mistake and removing all traces of Wil Nieves.

I can look at pictures of Gabe Kapler all day, LOL.

But I'm hoping for a picture of Bushie this time tomorrow night. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

I had Wes queued up, too. Instead:

Johnny Estrada deserves a temporary ban hammer
At least Carne represents how far the Brewers have come since 2007. Nieves represents how far the Brewers have come since, what, June? July?
