Too soon?

I don't think it's ever too early. I find it fun to think about actually. Even if the number is 50....there's still a valid number there to shoot for. I like tracking it, that's just me though I guess.

too early? absolutely. It makes us look conceited. It makes us look egotistical. It makes us look like St. Louis fans.

please stop.

At least wait until September 1st. Nobody clinches anything in August so what's the point?

It makes us look like we are having fun and enjoying a great season. I'm looking forward to seeing 48 later tonight.

I think looking forward to the playoffs looks happy, excited and hopeful.

And if other fans don't like it, that's no skin off my nose. Why should their reactions have any impact on us?

For a team that has won all of ONE division title in 30 years, I don't think it's too early. Is it wrong to be excited about it? If it was so early, why does CBSsports have the magic/elimination number on their standings? Because people want to know.....

Now we just need a cardboard cut out of TLR with 50 pieces of clothing and... oh wait, this is supposed to be motivational.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

I'll volunteer LaRussa's daughter...

Well played sir, well played.

Dang, if we won last night it would give me an excuse to post a picture of my man Augie!

the numbers I'm thinking about right now are 21-35 (The Brewers' road record). Only Houston has a worse road record in the NL, and only Houston, Baltimore & Kansas City have worse road records in MLB. I know its a relative small sample, buts its a little staggering when put in that context

We've got to improve on that if we are going to make the playoffs

And yes, I realize we now have the best home record in MLB, even better than the Phillies

The road record thing is overblown a bit, as it's likely just some weird luck/randomness. Their next four road series are against Houston, St. Louis, New York, and Pittsburgh. I'd bet on them being at least .500 over those four series.

Given this week's events, I think this thread should soley consist of the picture of LaRussa's daughter holding a card showing our magic number. That shouldn't be too hard to photoshop.
