Why is Philly trying to win? It really doesn't make any sense. They lose, and they force St Louis to play another game and they could potentially play the team without one of the top 3 players of last decade in MLB (Az). Stupid.

I'm still not sure which team I want to win even. I'd rather face the Cardinals than the Phillies so a chance at an upset there is huge. I don't really fear the Diamondbacks or Braves when we have home field advantage so the 1st round isn't going to matter much to me, we have to play poorly to lose to either of them with home field advantage.

The way I look at it is: be careful what you wish for. So, I don't really care who the Brewers play. They just have to win 3 games before their opponent does.

Pence might end up with the ugliest game winning hit ever

Everything about Pence's game is ugly so that would be very fitting. He is a very good player but I wouldn't ask my players to try to emulate his style.

Maybe because people who are talented and competitive enough to make it to MLB just aren't wired to lose on purpose.
