You must be joking. that ball just kept going and going.....

When you hit the ball hard you have a chance when you hit weak-ass grounders to short and pop up constantly, you don't.

Except he didn't hit the ball hard.
Yes he did. Balls don't go that far if you don't get good wood. We don't hit the ball hard. Other than the 6 run inning, we have done NOTHING.

There is a reason Yuni pops out at a historic pace.

This is a terrible time for the offense to go into a slump after the pitching has picked up. Why can't they ever pick up at the same time?
Posted

I remember going into the early season thinking "How the snot do ya get into the playoffs with such a porous defense?"

Doug Melvin was asked this question in an interview and I do NOT remember what his response was. Anyone able to summize it for me?

Did he say we'd hit our way through it?

Maybe he was drunk?

-I used to have a neat-o signature, but it got erased.

Because outside of Braun and Prince the offense has been in a slump all year. I can't remember even a small stretch where I was thinking man these Brewer's can mash.

bucksman4,

not trying to be augmentative but i was curious what the actual head to head numbers were.

2011 vs STL 9-9

2010 vs STL 8-7

2009 vs STL 9-9

2008 vs STL 10-5

2007 vs STL 7-8

2006 vs STL 7-9

my personal opinion is the cardinals have had about a dozen horseshoes wedged up their hindquarters the past 2 months and as with any cinderella the clock eventually strikes midnight.

Well we did get in the playoffs so he was right

For the record I know its his job and he is doing a great job at it, but Brian Anderson getting all excited about the Holliday homer and the Cardinals winning makes it worse.
