Axford pitched fine. Sometimes the hitters either get lucky or make amazing contact on a great pitch.

Please just get out of this inning tied somehow. Burgos goes 7 strong with 2 runs, Axford gives up the same two runs in 6 pitches. That's frusrating to say the least.

 

That Braun at bat last half inning looms larger now too.

Axford is all over the place with his pitches according to Gameday and he's throwing pitches right over the middle of the plate. When your fastball is as straight as an arrow and you can't keep your curveball down that's a big no no. No matter how hard you throw you will get hit.

Despite Weeks ability to hit for a half season, he's a terrible defender. Makes him an average 2B man, and replaceable.
