Random thoughts that are pointless and too dumb to say anywhere else thread: 2012

Honest guess: fantasy baseball GMs investigating whether or not he's a good buy-low option for 2013, or if he really is a mid-.700s OPS bat heading forward.

But even that seems like a stretch to think he'd be top 5 with all the hot stove chatter this offseason.

I've long speculated that if Dan Uggla were ever a Brewer, I'd probably get on his bandwagon, if only for that home run call. It's not compelling enough for me to flat out advocate for his signing, but if it ever happened, I would accept it and might get a shirsey.

This blog partly addresses why I don't hate Dan Uggla: http://blownsavewin.com/?p=2788

His name is DAN UGGLA

I have no answer for you, I just love that HR call.

Anyone notice the description for this video is incorrect? It states: "5/4/10: Dan Uggla launches a towering three-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning, giving the Giants a 6-5 lead"

Is it just me or does that blue blanket combined with the cupboard handles in the background look like the cookie monster?

While we're on that picture is it just me or is buying a vowel really stupid? $250 for barely any help at all. I would think most people can figure out where vowels fit once a few consonants are in the puzzle.

Buying a vowel seems to be like sacrifice bunting. You do it once in a while, but it's probably overused.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

I love it when a word is showing TH_ and they buy the E. At that point, you know the last word, so why not buy another one.

Because you know there is at least one E. You will not lose your turn and you may find more E's in other words that make those words more decipherable.

I'm sitting in hawing's library looking at 1904 obituaries. One has the headline "Work Of Grim Reaper."

There were some pretty freaking awesome (well, dramatic) obituary headlines back in the day. That'd be one of them.

It saddens me to think of how many snowmen are hunted and killed each year for their noses. Do we really need carrots that badly? Couldn't we at least stop eating baby carrots?

Don't care if it's sacreligious or not, this time of year whenever I see a big "JESUS SAVES" sign; I feel like there should be a little sign next to it that says "...at Wal-Mart".

I'm really enjoying the latest Mars Volta record, Noctourniquet.

I don't mean to un-random these random thoughts, but it seems like every other record they've released out of their last 4 has missed the mark. (At least to me, anyways.) Loved Amputechture and Octahedron, hated most of Bedlam and merely tolerate Noctourniquet.
