The idea by Gomez to bunt there wasn't totally stupid, considering how far back the 3B was playing. Remember, we did win a game on a bases loaded suicide squeeze once.

The problem there was that a) Gomez offered at an unbuntable pitch and b) the runner was going, so unless he's perfect or near-perfect, there's a good chance the runner can be gunned at home.

I kind of appreciate the cleverness, it's just that Gomez executed horribly.

With two outs though? And a force everywhere. I'd rather he swing instead of hoping he places a bunt perfectly to allow every runner to be safe.

I'm definitely not saying I preferred a bunt there. I just kind of, sort of, could appreciate the creativity. Trying something different.

I'd yank Gomez so damn fast it wouldn't be funny. What a joke that crap was. He's quit. He's absolutely quit. Leave Schaffer in. Screw that bum.

Gomez hasn't quit, he's just... not a smart player. The lights are on, but there's nobody home.

"Once". Not being adversarial - but having one of your best hitters bunt is just ignorant (RRR).

I think you are right. He screws up and has gotten by with his superior athleticism. He'll never have to worry about paying his Mensa dues.

Ya know....maybe Braun needs a shorter bat. Perhaps that's the issue here.

With that thumb he just isn't right and may never be what he once was.

Win or lose Boys, you have to admit that this has been a great, nail biting series. The toughest contested series I've seen all year.

If by 'great', you actually mean like watching two drunken hobos trying to hit an imaginary piñata, then yes, I agree.

When's the last time Segura hit a HR?

When's the last time Segura got a hit?

Was trying to anti-jinx it... Didn't work. Figured I had about a 1/2500 chance of it happening.
