Can someone watching explain how Gom-ey got thrown out?

 

High chopper fielded by the pitcher. He throws to 1st, ball is in the dirt and the 1st baseman couldn't dig it out. For some reason Gomez is 25 feet off a 2nd base on the turn. They throw to 2nd and get him in a run down.

 

He never stopped and was looking to go to third on it for some reason.

in a series with the season on the line, the offense scores 3 runs in 3 games. Very sad. What an epic, epic collapse. Not like, "The Giants win the pennant" epic, but it is utterly disheartening none the less.

The pitching was wonderful. 12 runs allowed on the 6 game road trip. The problem was this joke of an offense only scored 8.

All of Gomez' talents are from the neck down. I too am seriously sick of him and his stupidity. I don't know what was worse, watching the Packers' offense implode or the Crew's offense do another disappearing act.

No. Any pitcher who walks a lot of guys is a guy who looks great against the Brewers. The team swings at more balls outside the zone than any other in the league, and swings more than any other team in the league overall.

I've been a member here since 2003 and this is about as bad as I have felt. 2007 stunk at the end, but nothing like this.
