Quinn Finley announced he will return next season. Should help to retain the top scorer from this year hopefully.

That is good news.

I was reading an article on the BIG tournament and it had a lot of good sticking points.

The gist of it was the tournament is too long, and if you get bounced week 1 you have a 19 day stretch until the tournament. If you are the 1 seed and had the last weekend off you have s 2 week break before your semi matchup.

I dont know the answer to fixing it, but that happened to the Badgers last year snd they looked slow to start. Happened to Minnesotz this year, so I will be curious how they play.

OSU women sure have Bucky's number.

Greatest season in women's college hockey history to not end in a national championship..

What a gutsy call by the officials at the end of regulation.

Can someone name a bigger Badger-killer in all of sports than Thiele?  I'm glad she's done.

Rough first round for the big 10 in the NCAA torney. Ohio State Michigan State and Minnesota all go down with Penn State being the only team to get to the regional final

That’s just ugly

I'm not surprised by Minnesota and Ohio State losing but I am surprised Michigan State lost. Penn State is surprisingly good. That goalie is one of the best ones in the nation. He was out for a chunk of the early season and once he got back they have not lost very many games.

For as big of a record that this was the build up was very lackluster.  If this were some dumb record in the NFL ESPN would have had a months maybe even a years worth of attention to it.  You wouldn't even be able to go 5 minutes without ESPN mentioning some dumb record in the NFL and it wouldn't even have to be the rushing record it would be something stupid like the most punts in a game where ESPN would air it like every hour of the day for a week straight.  NHL goal record nope you get 30 minutes of ESPN's time.

NHL playoff time. I've been a Winnipeg fan all my life (no Wisconsin team growing up, Minnesota didn't have one either, no way I was rooting for Chicago). Hoping the Jets can put together a deep run. They've had an incredible and are reasonably healthy (minus Ehlers).

Peg looks good.  That team feels like it was built for the playoffs.  Speaking of built for the playoffs.  I see Landeskog just so happens to be healthy in time to join his team for the playoffs but not have his salary count against the team.  Seems like we get one of these every year.

Also, I hate the current playoff system.  Go back to 1-8 and reseed after each round.

Yeah, I agree about the system.

Especially this year, where the Central is loaded, and the Jets reward for winning the President's trophy is a 100-point team in R2 (assuming we don't playoff choke again).

Not sure if anyone saw Game 7 of the Jets-Blues series, but wow. One of the most intense sporting events I have ever witnessed.

Jets give up two early goals. They get one back in the second, but then give up a third on a bad giveaway with 30 seconds left in the period.

Down 3-1 all through the third, but they score twice in the last two minutes, once with 2 seconds left on an incredible tip-in.

Then a scoreless OT. Chances from both teams.

In the second OT, the Jets get a double-deflected goal at 16:03 to win it. The place goes insane.

Probably the second biggest win in franchise history (they won a Game 7 in Nashville handily in 2018, to book a sport in the WC Finals), but easily the most tense.

Two great Game 7s over the weekend, and some great series on tap in the next round.

Probably the best outcome the NHL could have hoped for happened in game 1.  One of the better hockey games in a long time.  This looks to be a great series and probably won’t get the viewership it deserves.

Another exciting game that went to OT. I can't believe the how the Oilers can go down 3 in the first to locking it down on defense and Pickard's gem and score the next 4. I wish they could have kept the lead in regulation...but at least they still won in the fist OT. I only lost an hour of sleep. As much as I would have wanted, I don't think my body could put up with another second OT.

As much as I like the Panthers, I just find it hard to root against the Oilers. Plus I can't stand Marchand.

Looks like Florida has won this one and the Stanley Cup!  It was a great series though a disappointing last game.

IIRC, that is the expansion franchise the Pettit's made a strong play for(?)

I thought it was the Lightning.  Well in the 92-93 expansion it was the Lighting and Senators who were added.  I think they tried to possibly buy a team and then move them to Milwaukee.

Good enough.  Tampa it was.

The NHL is looking to expand again and drum roll please....... Milwaukee is not on the list.  The four cities that the NHL is looking at are Indianapolis, Houston, Atlanta and New Orleans with Austin on the outside looking in.  Reported franchise fee is $2bn.

Yeah I don't see Milwaukee getting a franchise when the fee is $2bn.  Not enough possible revenue for a team in Milwaukee to pay for that fee.
