It stinks to lose.

It stinks to lose against the Cubs.

It stinks to blow leads against the Cubs.

Still a fan. Still better days to come. Not a "loser" organization. Tons of meaningful baseball over the last decade. When we win it all, it will be the most impressive championship in the history of the four major sports considering our small market status and limited revenue sharing/no salary cap.

Keep the faith.

CC gave credit to,the cub hitters for a few of those late walks. Rightfully said they fought off a lot of pretty good pitches .....when you force pitchers to,throw 10 or 11 pitches many times walks are going to be the result.

They aren't the world champs because they stink.

Funny how Counsell can appreciate John Jay fouling off pitches and never hesitate to run Nieuwehuis out there as a late inning pinch hitter when he's having trouble making any contact. You get what you pay for and Brewers aren't willing to spend even a little to bolster a bench with a proven major league bat.

Well that was disgusting. Tempers any thoughts that that organization is any different this season. Bunch of losers. Always have been.

See above post... Repeat here.

Knebel clearly didn't have it today. A lot of this loss falls on Counsell for sticking with Corey despite his inability to throw strikes. He had both Feliz and Marinez warming up while Knebel was walking guys. It's not like he got to 2 outs and lost control, it was obvious from the first batter.

Yeah he only walked 1 guy and had pitched lights out so far this year. You can't pull a pitcher every time he gets in a little trouble......you don't have enough pitchers to do that.

Yes, a bench bat would really change the entire outlook of the season.

All of Torres, Knebel and Feliz had some pretty key walks. I thought Counsell managed the pen as well as he could have tonight. Knebel didn't have his best stuff but he came back to get that second out and then I thought Counsell pulled the trigger at the right time to bring in Feliz and he was able to get through it to still take the lead into the 9th.

There is only so much Counsell can do. Guys have to be able to throw strikes. I thought the 6th where Torres retires the first two up 4-1 and then gives up 2 straight walks followed by an easy RBI single was really a key turning point in the game. No excuse when you're up 4-1 and the next 3 runs that score to tie it were all put on via the walk. Our pitching staff is not good enough to be putting runners on for free with leads.

Anyone who thinks this team is a contender with the pitching we have is nuts.

Who said anything about being a contender???

Clearly you haven't been reading the Thames/Braun trade threads.

Nieuwenhuis sucks but he really doesn't have anything to do with why we lost tonight. The system is loaded with up and coming OF prospects and a guy like Phillips will probably replace Nieuwenhuis at some point this year. Jay at $8M would be a waste of money for this team .

[sarcasm]Missed an opportunity to take control of the division and give a knockout blow to the Cubs the last two days. Sweep would've set us up for pennant chase.[/sarcasm]
