Went and saw No Hard Feelings.

Is it a must see?  Maybe...

Is it entertaining as hell?  yup

Nice to see a movie again that isn't held down by the PC police.  Seems to be a lost art these days.

Watched a few more movies from the dvd collection the past couple of weeks.  Still weeding them out.  Nothing added to the DUMP pile.

American Graffiti - Always liked this movie and don't think a movie Like Dazed and Confused (One of my top 3 favs of all time) would have been made without it!

More American Graffiti - A decent follow up to the original.  Not much more to add.

American History X - Disturbing...  On the fence with keeping or dumping this one.

Appaloosa - I'm a sucker for the modern Western.  Good story line, just a good movie if you like westerns.

Armageddon - I'll be honest, haven't seen this movie in over a decade.  I thought it would be a goner before watching it, but had to give it one more chance.  LOVED it!  Liv Tyler annoys me, always has, but I got over it.  Does it have a cheesy factor, yup, but loved it anyway!

Man, going from the good time vibes of the American Graffitis into American History X is a pretty stark contrast. Ed Norton is one of my favorite actors and that role is up there among his best.

Also love Armageddon even though I’m not normally a huge action summer blockbuster fan. Just a stacked cast top to bottom.

If you have Deep Impact you could break the alphabetical system and go for the “Asteroid Hurtling Towards Earth” double feature.

LOL

I did have that at one point, but dumped it a long time ago.  For whatever reason, I just thought it was stupid.

Guardians of the Galaxy 3 today.

Loved it, but I've enjoyed all 3 of that franchise.

Probably my last Marvel movie for a long time.

I'm totally bitter on all the other Marvel movies, just too many to keep up with and I don't see any of them as new and groundbreaking.  They are either making new characters or digging up a lot of them that I've never heard of.  Either way, I'm done with the Marvel universe for now.

Sound of Freedom should win some awards but won’t.  It is a great movie with an actual plot and character development.  A far better movie than Oppenheimer and Barbie.

I watched the Vince Lombardi A Football Life documentary on YouTube last night. I'd seen it before years ago but it's enthralling. Glad I randomly re-watched it. One of the things that struck me about it that I hadn't really thought much about before was that he pretty much cemented his enormous legacy after only 9 seasons as a NFL head coach. 10 if you count his only season with Washington but let's face it he was already a made man by then. Yes, he'd had a long career in coaching but never as a head coach above the high school level until going to Green Bay. Imagine what he might have done if he'd had 15 or 20 more years. RIP coach.

Theater Camp was surprisingly funny

If anyone has yet to see 1917, stop putting it off!

Excellent film!

Re-watched it today and it was just as great as the first time!

My wife and I watched Game Night a few days ago.  Not a must see, but entertaining.

Went to Killers of the Flower Moon this afternoon.

Good movie, but really long at 3 hours and 27 minutes.

I think the hype may have outperformed the movie, but it is surely well worth the time to see.

I have no desire to watch any movie that is that long. I am sure you could cut out an hour and it will be about the same.

I'm sure you could cut an hour and it would be a different movie.

I have no use for "3.5 hours is too long" when it's been proven that people will show up for stuff like Endgame, Lord of the Rings, Avatar, Godfather II, Titanic, etc. that are in the same general ballpark. Heck, the Taylor Swift concert movie is pushing 3 hours.

I know it's not a roller coaster thrill ride. I'd argue it's all the better because it doesn't use the time for just longer set pieces.

Other than the Godfather II and Titanic those are some very specific audiences that are being targeted.  Lord of the Rings, Endgame and Avatar are all pushing the geek/nerd culture so they are willing to watch and stay for those movies.  You could probably do an 8-hour movie on the Lord of the Rings and the people who are Lord of the Rings fans will go and watch it and probably won't complain about the length of the movie.  I know of some people who watched all three in one sitting.

The Taylor Swift concert movie is targeted at tween girls and soccer mom's.  They would watch a whole concert movie if it were 4-5 hours long.

I'd like to think that I have a longer attention span than a tween girl.

Depending on the subject you probably have a smaller attention span than a tween girl.

My wife and I really enjoyed The Killer. I love FIncher's work - such attention to detail in terms of camera and sound. Not a ton of action so I can see why some audience ratings aren't so good. But if you're a fan of the craft of filmmaking it's a very solid watch.

Went with the family to see the new Hunger Games flick over the thanksgiving weekend.

As a fan of the original 3, I liked this one too!  (I have never read the books)

Hoping for a continuation of the prequel, and I'd bet money there will be 2 more in the coming years.

The Holdovers was great!

I concur that The Holdovers was terrific. Perhaps there are no true surprises in the film, but it functions at such a high level that it's really not needed. Very satisfying.

Not exactly new and not exactly a movie but Band of Brothers is a must see that I watch a couple of times a year

I can’t give enough thumbs up for this!!  I watch it yearly.  Sometimes with various commentaries or whatnot turned on just for a different take.  The one time I watched it on “sport mode” on my tv was kinda epic. (Your mileage may vary)

I think this series is by far the best series HBO has ever done.  It is far better than Game of Thrones and other series.  Some good acting and everything pulls you in.  It is very gritty and represents WWII fighting rather well.  Much better than Saving Private Ryan did at least.

A quick edit.  I wish they would do something like this for the Korean war.

FYI there is a new series coming out soon from the makers of Band of Brothers called "Masters of the Air".

You'll have to get Apple TV to watch it though. HBO passed.

If you like Band of Brothers, I highly recommend the World War II museum in New Orleans. An entire exhibit is dedicated to Easy Company.
