How important is it to see 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later before seeing 28 Years later?

Anyone with insight?

You should see 28 Days Later and skip 28 Weeks Later.  I haven't seen 28 Days Later in a long time but 28 Weeks Later is garbage and you don't need to watch that one.  I haven't seen 28 Years Later yet but the newer movie is more of a standalone from what I understand about the movie.  You don't need to watch the other two but you should definitely watch 28 Days Later at some point.

Probably don't need to see either, wasn't much connection between the first 2.  Maybe just watch a recap of both just to get an idea of some of the lore which may help.  Haven't seen the new one yet.

28 days later is on hulu/Disney right now but weeks is not fyi.

red rocket-male pornstar returns to his hometown in Texas and gradually exposes himself more and more as a narcissist. great performances. very funny

sinners- slow build vampire movie. little on the nose but the ending was fun

Nosferatu-thought the first hours was fantastic. not as good as the Werner herzog/Klaus kinski version from the 70s

a real pain-cathartic emotional movie. Jessie eisenberg perfectly cast. kieran culken is fantastic

rewatched 'welcome to the dollhouse' for the first time in a decade.

one of the best dark comedies ever.

I feel like it's set in the same fictional universe as 90s nickelodeon show 'pete and pete' lol

28 Years Later

- watched the first 2, #1 was good, #2 sucked.

- 28 Years Later wasn't worth the effort to see.  The first 2/3 of it was ok, but nothing earth shattering.  The last 1/3 was absolute crap.

Waste of time.

I told you to skip 28 weeks later.

Yup, but figured if I was going to watch the first one, might as well watch the second to complete the series.

Jurassic World Rebirth

Great big summer flick!  Thought it was pretty damn good all the way through!  Had some times when it felt like it borrowed a bit from JAWS, but well worth the watch if there are any fans of the franchise!

The new Jurassic Park was just okay. I was with a big group that was probably more enthusiastic going into it than I was.

You will get exactly what you expect in the movie.

Fountain of Youth was decent, but not must-see.  Worth watching but feels a lot like Indiana Jones and National Treasure made a baby while watching Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and The Mummy.

A fun movie, but nothing really "new and fresh".  Sounds like it will try to make a sequel.

DVD Purge:

Chasing Amy - I know people love the Kevin Smith stuff, and I must admit that Jay and Silent Bob are the highlights of all his films (at least to me anyway) but this one was just so-so.  I rank it pretty even with the Clerks series.  Nothing I need to keep.  - Goner

The Client - Decent movie, but nothing I need to keep in the collection - Goner.

Christine - Keeper, this is the first Stephen King book I ever read, and I've read everyone of his books since.  Movie is pretty damn good, surprised it hasn't been remade.

Chasing 3000 - Love good baseball movies, and this is a decent flick.  Keeper

Champions - Love this movie, and it contains many many LOL moments.  Keeper

City of Angels - Meh.  Ghost rip-off with angels instead of Ghosts...  Not horrible, not great either.  No reason to see it again, so it's a goner.

DVD PURGE:

Casualties of War - Not a feel good movie, but I'm a sucker for Viet Nam movies.  Pretty disturbing at times, but it stays.  Keeper

Click - Don't need to see it again, Goner

Cobb - I think a lot of the stuff in this movie has been disproven, but I'm sure he probably wasn't a good guy.   Keeper

Clockwork Orange -  I've always felt this movie was very over rated.  There are some iconic scenes, that can't be argued, but to me, it just isn't that great.  I don't need it in the collection as I doubt I'll ever have the urge to see it again. Goner

Mallrats - Strayed from the "C's"  for this one since I have been seeing the Kevin Smith stuff a lot lately, figured I'd just complete the ones in my collection... Like all the Kevin Smith stuff, has it's moments, but not for me. Goner

Close Encounters of the Third Kind - Was looking forward to giving this a watch since I probably haven't seen it in it's entirety since the 80's.  I mean, I was 11 or 12 when this came out and it was HUGE at the time.  Watching it now in 2025, it was just ok.  We are pretty spoiled these days with special effects and such, and in 1977 when this was made, it was probably cutting edge...  Storyline was good, everything was fine, but that is the best I can say.  It was fine.  Do I need to see it again, nope.  Goner

Colors - I really really really really love this movie, always have.  Came out when the gangs in LA were all the rage.  Literally, it was kind of sad at the time how pop culture put these murdering thugs on a pedestal.  Of course rap music was the rage, and that is where most of it came from.  Anyway, great movie, love it from the cops perspective.  KEEPER!

I prefer Boyz n the Hood as it doesn’t really glamorize the gangster mentality and just puts it as it is a grim reality.  America has always been fascinated by gangsters.  Going back to the wild west, Italian mob, motorcycle gangs (clubs) and then to the 80’s and 90’s gangsters.  This fascination can sometimes turn into a love affair especially in pop culture.

I watched this in my backyard with my projector and big screen.  Watching the last half hour of the movie under the stars was pretty amazing.  It made me keep looking up, just in case. 😉

The Naked Gun trailer is great. And it's directed by one of the Lonely Island guys so I am hopeful.

Definitely not a turd. It was good but not great. Some terrific word play but the pacing was off.  Also, the original had the benefit of spoofing real cop shows. This felt like a copy of a copy if that makes sense.  But overall, I liked it. I think Liam Neeson was terrific. He played the straight guy perfectly. I'll probably catch it again when it streams.

The Home

Got a free random ticket via Fandango, so for free, why not go?  Every once in a while they send me a free ticket to a specific movie.  Kind of like that concept.  Recently saw the Surfer and Fight or Flight for free too.

It was ok, Pete Davidson did a great job actually, I had my reservations...

If you like horror movies, I can't see why you wouldn't like this one, but I don't view it as a must see movie.

EDEN - Really enjoyed this one!  Better than I expected... The acting was super!

Weapons - Also liked this one a lot.  It got a bit silly at the end, but it fit, so all good!
