DVD Purge

The Deer Hunter - Keeper

Deliverance - This is a movie I'd like to see done today.  I hate remakes, so I'm not saying I'd like to see a remake, but I'd like to see it done today, if it had never been made before.  KEEPER!

Devil's Advocate - I like this movie, always have, but no longer keeper worthy imo

Death Wish - Bruce Willis version.  I'm keeping this one because I love watching characters getting revenge on scumbags.  Bruce is old in this one, and I miss the younger version, but it's still worth keeping in the collection. Keeper

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels - There are a couple parts in this movie that are more than hilarious (the Steve Martin character sitting at the table and asking to go to the bathroom) , but I don't think I'll need to see this one again.. Gone

District 9 - I remember seeing this in the theaters and for whatever reason I liked it.  Not this time.  I didn't hate it, but I don't need to watch it again. Goner

I'll allow it. But I draw the line at Avengers: Endgame.

I watched Shoah this year, so why are we talking about short movies? 😆

Titanic... blah. I had to pee three times during the movie. 2 might been excuses to just get out of the theater. 😂

I haven't seen as many films as I'd have liked so far this summer. But if I had to pick the film I liked best, I'd probably say The Sheep Detectives.

Yeah, I didn't see that coming either.

My girlfriend really wanted to see The Odyssey. I hate long movies but begrudgingly went. It is FANTASTIC.

Yes!  We just watched that last Saturday and were very pleasantly surprised with how good it was!

I'll add another to the sheep detectives.  Wasn't going to see it because it sounded dumb.  A school dad told me they saw it and loved it.  Took the kids to the theater to see it on that recommendation and was a bit shocked how well it was done.  Watched it again last night for family movie night in Prime Video.  It still should not be that good, but dang if it doesn't hit.

Just watched the trailer because of these comments. Normally talking animals is an immediate no from me, but it looks like I'd be in the wrong to not see it. So the shepherd dying doesn't put a pall over the rest of what's clearly supposed to be a feel-good movie?

But we did get to see Kate Winslets boobs.

No, not at all.  There is another scene that is a little dark as well.  I can't explain it because it's not like a cookie cutter talking animal movie.  It's probably safer to say the movie is geared towards adults just as much as kids.

I was also highly skeptical of Sheep Detectives, but at my wife's request saw it on Mother's Day and it's a that rare for me good family movie. Probably not nearly as good on a rewatch since part of the fun was the who-dunit, but still something to pull out in a few years and enjoy with a younger generation.

Didn't they use a double for that part, or some hollyweird trickery?  I thought I had read that wasn't her nakedness...

Actually, ignore this post, I think I am confusing her with some other actress in some other movie.

Watched it last night and it was ok.  A cross between Babe, Wallace and Grommet, and Knives Out.

I liked the new Spider-Man movie.  It wasn’t preachy or talking down to you which was good.  The writing for the villain was lacking though.  The actress did a great job but her lines that were written wasn’t the greatest.  It seems as though they didn’t know what to do with her.  The villain is no surprise and they wrote her more like Magneto than Jean Grey.

If they were going to do that then they should have used Lorna Dane aka Polaris.  I get why they chose Jean she is a more recognizable character.  Just the writers here had no clue on how to write for Jean Grey.  They wrote it more for Polaris than Jean Grey.

My wife and I went to ONE NIGHT ONLY today.

We were just looking for something to go see, and had thought the previews looked interesting.

I liked it, some pretty funny stuff throughout the entire movie.

The premise is just silly, but still a fun watch.

If you like Rom Coms, this is well worth the time!

Spider Man - Brand New Day

Good flick, I've liked all the movies in this current Spider Man series.

It's only down to Batman and Spider Man movies for me as far as super heroes movies go.  I grew more than tired of trying to keep up with all the Marvel nonsense.  Saw previews for the new Avengers movie and if the previews don't even look good, there is no reason to be excited about going to the movie.  Just looks like a meh movie.  Regardless, I'm done with the Marvel stuff.

Anyway, I thought the latest Spider Man movie was definitely a good watch.  One complaint:  It was a little long.  Almost 2.5 hours long.
