Congrats on your first hit, Lewis. Now sit on the bench. If we're not going to play him almost every day, why is he up here?

CC just told Uecker "that's baseball and enjoy the ride." They were talking about last night's game.

Uecker says middle of June and we're in first place. CC says there's a long way to go and we've cemented things as a group. I think CC loves this group of guys.

Brinson has started four of six games prior to today and pinch hit in the other two, so he has played every day to this point. Domingo Santana didn't start every single game last year to the chagrin of many posters and it doesn't appear to have hindered his development in any noticeable way to this point.

So he's now started 57% of the games he's been up. That's not enough. If you're not going to play your top prospects the vast majority of the time, they shouldn't be up.

And Counsell was a moron last year for playing Nieuwenhuis over Santana.

This guy came into today with an 8 and a half ERA. Anyone plan on putting it in play at some point today?

He also came into today with 25 strikeouts in 18 innings.

Finally gave in. Listening to the play 10 seconds ahead of it actually happening on TV is far better than listening to Brian and Bill.

Well he's on pace to almost double that so far today.

Mike Trout only started 32 of 57 games (56%) during his two stints with the Angels in 2011, imagine what could have been if they'd only started him with more frequency.

Wouldn't starting Nieuwenhuis over Santana down the stretch last year decrease our chances of winning since Kirk was an inferior player? With every loss being advantageous to our draft position wouldn't that make it a smart move in the long term?

They've figured this guy out. 100 homers for the Crew so far this season!

Thames is red hot!

What! Now they're complaining about the roof closing and that's why the balls were hit deep. Don't they know that this team can hit homers anytime and anywhere.

Who was complaining about that?

Thames better just grab a cup, form and pen as soon as he goes back into the clubhouse today.

Would like if he just did a football celebration type thing where he just peed on home plate as he's finishing rounding the bases.

Wonder how many of you will complain about Anderson getting a pitch several inches off the plate to strike out Myers. ;)

I didn't see it, but isn't that kind of a given? No one is going to be mad about a call that benefits them. Still doesn't change my feelings on doing away with umpires calling balls and strikes.
