The Brewers won the NL Central in 2011 by 6 games. It was never lower than 4.5 in the past few weeks. They were tied for the lead at the All-Star game. The season does not fit the they always start strong and then fade narrative that seems so common here.

I stand corrected what the heck am I thinking about . 2008. That’s what it was lol. Every year seems the same now days. My apologies.

No but '98, '99, '01, '06, '07, '08, '09, '14, '17, '18 do. All either leading the division or within striking distance around the all star break or later.

Of course they've also had a couple of years of the opposite where they fell behind so far early on that their late season run came up short '12, '13

08 is what I was thinking about. And 07 was a horrible collapse... so was 14 if I recall. My gosh this is depressing to think about lol

Nice to see CC with some fire. I have to admit I love it.

I don’t think there is any chance Miley was trying to hit him. This has the feeling of a long night already with the score still 0-0.

'06 is the second worst in my mind behind '07. The "Turnblow" season, 84 wins was all it took to win that division too...

That's why it just makes me laugh when people bemoan the Packers not winning a Super Bowl in a few years. Every recent "playoff failure" would be parade worthy if the Brewers did it.

Exception that proves the rule?

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

Production from 2nd base and shortstop? Turning the corner!

Runs are tough to come by against Mikolas, but getting his pitch count up to 39 through 2 innings is a minor victory. Also really quality contact by both Shaw and Arcia on the first go around.
