It's like, "What is an out?", these days? I don't get how they could overturn that.

Anyway, nice start for Gio.

I don't know. It looked pretty clear to me that the call was correctly overturned.

Tigers hold the line after Boyd exits, 3-1 going to the bottom of the 8th. Cards will have the top of the order up in the 9th (Carpenter-Martinez-O'Neill)

Yeah I guess I'm not really sure what people are seeing to think that was an out. Anyway, good job Corey getting the last out here and great Brewer debut for Gio.

Saw the “perfect game” indicator on the Royals/Twins game and assumed it was Berrios. Nope, Jorge Lopez!

Great, that's another tab I'll leave open now.

Oh, so that is Jorge Lopez with the Perfect game through 6 innings.

Mike Fiers all over again.

This is what I do when the wife is out of town.

Just joking with you. I do appreciate it though.

Is it me or does it seem like guys are taking more border line pitchers. I have no idea why you would complain after taking a pitch that close with two strikes.

How was Gio’s pace? During his time with the Nats he was always criticized for working really slowly and would throw a lot of pitches.

Seemed "normal" to me.

Game 2 is underway in Washington. Rodriguez retires the side in the top of the 1st.

Hope the Nats' offense can stay hot. I haven't really looked at his peripherals, does Hamels' success with the Cubs seem legit?

Getting good Corey Knebel back for the rest of the season would be incredibly beneficial.

Agreed. I just hope they resist the urge to "name him the closer". I hate that concept.

Same here. There's absolutely no need to force him back into that role. There's crucial outs in every inning to be gotten. I have no problem seeing Hader in the 6th and 7th either.

If I ever see David gruber on the street, im gonna push him down because of these annoying commercials.

You scallion, you.

You'll have a lawsuit on your hands, mister.

If Knebel is back, you have your shut down pen in the late innings. I wish they would use Jeffress more liberally as well. This could be a dynamic pen if used in that manner.

If Knebel is back he increases our World Series odds dramatically. Soria, Hader, Jeffress, and Knebel? With all the off days if that pen is on all cylinders in October you could ride them a loooooong way.
