Uekes the road warrior

Listening to the highlights on mlb network, i noticed Ueker was in St. Louis. He was also in Pittsburgh over the weekend. Is Bob doing all these road games because the brewers are in the race? He's gotta have more than 20 road broadcasts this year. I know he did the 1st 3 games of the season in SD, after spring training. And did 12 in chicago (counting the sox series). Nice to hear Uekes doing some more road games!!

I LOVED him stopping in with BA and Rock, that - growing up with Ueck on the radio through the 80's-90's - was a real treat. I'd love to see him stop in more often, as a third man he can just tell his crazy stories and not take away from the game, as been some complaints on here by some folks (yes, he has lost a "step" calling a game). But my gosh he is a baseball icon and still had me in stitches talking about Mike Shannon and being heavily medicated, and who had issues filling out scorecards. Last night was a special night.

In this season full of great moments, watching the broadcast with Ueck calling that two out nobody on four run rally capped off by the Yelich triple, in that game with such huge stakes, was the most enjoyable moment of the season for me (so far!)

He was in St. Louis but he technically had a day off yesterday. He just stopped in the booth to hang out for a few innings. I think he always makes the St. Louis trips since he knows a lot of people down there from his playing days including one of the Cardinals broadcasters.

BA with the nice iphone camera work.

That’s freaking awesome

I luvit, but a part of me is skeptically squinting at the almost choreographed "nature" of it all...

Yeah they planned to have Bob up there during a bases clearing triple. :)

Notso much a planned happening--more of a vintage happening. There are so many happenings of Uecker calling the game in his natural radio habitat that the TV stage leaves a bit of a schtickiness that is slightly sickening in it's affectation even if it is not unwelcomed.

I don't know, I guess I just appreciate it for what it was and what it is... Bill and ba appreciating to get to spend some time with a Legend. That Yelich happened to hit a bases-clearing triple when Brian turned on his camera is icing on the cake as far as I'm concerned. I'm a cynical as they come and I think it's just a cool moment.

Yes, it was a blast listening to him the other night with BA and Rock. :laughing

The guy really does deserve a WS before he passes. Really needs to happen.

I don't know how anyone could not like those few innings. All seemed natural to me,you can tell these guys just sit around BS all day about baseball and generally like each other. Also as far as comments on his schlicht not working on TV. Yes I get that you don't have to call out every detail like on the radio. But in a way a guy able to tell stories and just kinda BS seems like it would fit better on TV than the radio because on the radio you have to give those details of the game, tv not so much. I know i'd prefer what Bob was doing over the massive over analyzing, overcritizing every mistake and know it all that come with the national broadcasts these days.

I thought that as well, but I think he love being at the ball park too much to retire. He might stop travelling with the team. If he does retire, i'm sure he'll still be at the ballpark more often than not.

You knew me as Myday2001.

Ueck is our baseball treasure. I want the Brewers to win the WS for all of the fans and the players along with the entire organization. I want Ueck to get to see it in his lifetime.
