I still don't have a feel for how good Bucky actually is.

they could win every game they have left on the schedule or they could lose every game they have left on the schedule and I wouldn't be surprised with either outcome

That's the game. I would've been surprised if we'd have won this game, and I pretty much resigned myself to the belief that the same will happen tomorrow with the Packers. Not a good weekend to be a Wisconsin sports fan.

You need 2 scores, why not kick the field goal???

That call is indicative of their confidence in the kicker, I think.

Would’ve been a 39 yard FG. Any power 5 school better have someone that can kick a 39 yard FG.

Are you new to Wisconsin football?

The worst part about that drive is how slow they were going. You're down 10 in the 4th quarter. Some urgency would be nice.

Same question I asked before, are you new

To following Wisconsin football? ;)

We have zero ability to comeback offensively, and it has basically been that way for 30 years now.

I'm not and I know we're not built to comeback but not even trying just by the runs and using a ton of the play clock is really disappointing.

20/32 on FG 30+ the last 3 years.

63% chance of it being a 1 score game. There’s zero reason Wisconsin can’t kick a 39 yard FG. That was a terrible decision.

I'm pretty confident that UW would be winning if Pryor and Davis were playing

... 63% with one of the best kickers the program has ever had for most of that time....

Honestly, when was the last time the Badgers attempted even a modest FG where you didn’t hold your breath?

Apparently the anointing of Mertz as our quarterback savior was a bit premature.

He’s had some bad throws, but also working with 1 legitimate weapon in the passing game and that’s a true freshman.

The scary thing is that this is probably what it's going to be like next year.

Also Northwestern has a pretty darn good defense.

I get both your points, Badgers don't seem to ever go for longish field goals with their mediocre kickers yet in a game like today 3 points seemed like a pretty big deal.

I’m a big Badger apologist, but let’s call a spade a spade. He’s been absolutely miserable today.

There’s obviously a ton of potential, and undoubtedly significant future success. But we all thought after one game that he was fantastic. And clearly there’s still a lot of work to be done.
