It would be nice to see the Packers get home field by just rolling over a team fighting for a playoff spot. It could be a close one. I wouldn't be surprised if they win by 25 or it comes down to a final possession.

The Packers are a substantially better, more talented team than the Bears. If this game is close, it will be because the Packers either have self-inflicted mistakes, or take their foot off the gas. Likewise, I could see this as a blowout or a game that comes down to a last second field goal. If the same Packers team shows up that just beat the Titans, the Packers will win by 30+. But there are no guarantees in the NFL.

Every few months when I need a pick me up, I watch that Cutler clip. What surprises me, is the lack of pick 6's for the shear volume of interceptions.

He throws a ton down field into a sea of like 8 guys, where pick 6s are less likely to happen. They're usually quick hits to the sideline where there is nobody in front of a defender to make a tackle.

Agreed, but the Bears/Vikings/Lion games are never easy even with lopsided talent. Those rivalry games are hard because you always get their best game.

You mean that CB from Bethune Cookman who was one of the worst picks of the 2006 NFL draft!

 

Losing Collins and Finley were two huge blows, not to mention Sam Shields who was a key player as an UDFA on the Super Bowl team(despite only playing CB for one season) who made a few huge picks during that SB run.

Nobody was missed more than Collins though. A big safety with elite athleticism(4.4 40, 6.6 3 Cone)...and he could hit.

Last three years he had 22 turnovers, 18 picks and 5 TD's. And he could play in the box and cover the slot. As great as he was, he might have been even more suited for the current NFL.

 

Vernon Scott, the latest Safety to don the #36 has been coming on pretty strong the last few weeks. Coming downhill and tackling exceptionally well.

Right. And the Bears do have quite a bit of talent. They've got several elite players. Hicks, Mack, Smith, Jackson...you put those 4 on any defense and they're capable of giving you problems.

 

NO chance we'll see Snacks in this game, is there? I don't believe he'll have been here long enough to be eligible with the Covid protocols, but outside of Robinson, the only threat on offense is the way Montgomery has been running as of late.

 

But they've played something like the 32nd, 31st, 30th, and 28th worst defenses the past 4 weeks by DVOA. So this SHOULD be a similar game to week one.

 

I'd expect Big Dog(Mercedes Lewis) to get a season-high in snaps this week as well as we get acclimated to live without 'Takatari."

I have seen that he is practicing with the team and that there's a chance. I'm guessing since he was with a team there's not much that needs to be done covid wise since he was being tested anyway. I would guess how much he plays depends on if the coaching staff thinks he knows the defensive line calls.

Oh...cool. If he's practicing, he can play. With Keke out, I'd assume he would. I don't know how much DL calls come into play on our front. Usually, it's out OLB'ers looping on stunts, and he'll likely only be in on likely running downs.

I asked him for some shenanigans he remembered while playing with GB. He said he always was setting up Holmgren to walk in on Favre holding his junk. He said stories are true that Favre pranked a lot and Holmgren was a main target. Might explain why he ended up in Seattle... lol

I wonder how they'll handle the RB rotation. Dillon has clearly earned more carries and without Bahk, you'd assumed they'd emphasize the run game more, but the backs are always going to be asked to help chip and stay in to block more. It'll be a good sign of how far they think Dillon's progressed.

 

 

Also...losing Keke is a big blow for the defense. He was playing as well as just about anyone in the front 7.

I think with the loss of the Bak and the Bears front 7 we only get 27 today. The defense should be able to hold that but I have been let down too many times to assume it. I could see this coming down to a late FG, 2 weeks ago I viewed this as an easy win. Hopefully it's just playoff nerves, this does feel like a playoff game since a win essentially gives us one playoff win by skipping a round. As always wish it was on at noon...

I don't take anything for granted, especially in a divisional game. Definitely have more talent than Chicago, but the talent differential between the best and worst NFL teams is so minimal that the "any given Sunday" saying definitely applies. No reason that Minnesota should have come into Green Bay and won, but it happens.

 

Just play our game and hopefully Bahk's absence doesn't hurt us too much. My biggest concern for the game is whether or not Chicago's pass rush will be good enough today to interrupt our offensive rhythm. If Rodgers still has a clean pocket, we should be fine. If not, that's when we run into problems.

 

MLF said we will treat this like a playoff game, and I hope we do.
