Shouldn't be a long-term injury, but comes at a time with no off day until May 10 so there there will be a need for 2-3 starts.

40-man options include Suter, Lindblom (IL), Lauer, Weigel, and Bettinger. The later two may have the most upside, but both were limited in the spring and may not be stretched out. I'll predict Suter, with Lauer getting called into the pen.

Thinking we might see Lindblom. Given up one run in 18.1 IP in AAA, so fingers crossed he found something that will get MLB hitters out.

I hope we do see Lindblom. Paying him a lot of money to get AAA guys out.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

When was the last time we called somebody up from AA to make their MLB debut? Doesn’t seem like a very Brewers thing to do.

Ethan Small was the best pitcher in the Southeastern Conference in 2019, which is a top collegiate league. He's not just pitching in AA, he's dominating AA. Peralta was just 21 and had a handful of starts at AAA when he debuted in 2018. I'd argue Small has much more of a resume than Freddy did at the time he was called up.

All the reports on Small when he was drafted was that he was most finished college pitcher in the draft. If not for last year being lost to covid, he'd almost certainly be at AAA now.

I wonder, if Ashby wasn't being groomed to come up as a reliever later this year, if he would be getting the call to replace Anderson.
Remember what Yoda said:

"Cubs lead to Cardinals. Cardinals lead to dislike. Dislike leads to hate. Hate leads to constipation."

Ethan Small is now at Nashville. The timing with Anderson's injury is probably not coincidence.

This was a planned promotion from AA to AAA. It is just a coincidence that Anderson also was injured at the same time. Even if Anderson wouldn't have been injured Small would have been moved to AAA.
