Friday Night Split - Shuckers and M-Braves Each Win One in DH

Fry’s Double Wins Game One For Biloxi

By Garrett Greene

Tristen Lutz slowed down for one night, 0-for-5 with four K's, also an HBP

Old friend Wendell Rijo is still only just 25 somehow.

With Brent Diaz' arrival from AAA, Payton Henry finally got a game off (but not the night off, started Game One).

Chiefs Rally Late to Beat Rattlers 7-6

Lujano homers twice, but Wisconsin can’t hold 6-2 lead heading into the bottom of the eighth

By Chris Mehring

Chris goes into his usual excellent, although bittersweet detail. You'll note that Thomas Dillard caught this game. He had previously caught three innings in a Wisconsin game in 2019, but that had been it behind the dish until last night.

VIDEO Tweet via the Chiefs: Walk-off loss (again). Cardinals affiliation doesn't help.

RH starter Zach Mort with a solid effort, but here are the two solo home runs he surrendered.

A reminder that the LH bat, Brady Whalen, is the son of Brewers' amateur scout Shawn Whalen.

Remarkably, via former Voice of the Chiefs Nathan Baliva, who always endured mutual playful scorn with Mr. Mehring, produced these insights:

But seriously...I hope you get walked off six times this week

There’s one walkoff! LOL guess I brought the juju to the park today

That’s 2 @CMehring almost there

Mix in Thursday's 3-2 loss when a late lead was blown, and it may as well be three walk-offs, though not techically.

Bullock Racks Up Career High 12 Ks in 8-2 Victory

Creedmoor native Justin Bullock struck out 12 while turning in a career night for the Mudcats

Greg Young's summary is as sweet as the club's performance in this one. Be sure to take it all in.

VIDEO via WNCT: Found one sweet Justin Bullock pitch for y'all - highlights include Joey Weimer's two-RBI single

SS Freddy Zamora exited Thursday's game after completing a 6-3 out on the inning's final play. He did not play on Friday.

Might be a while before we see another affiliate start match or exceed that sweet line from Bullock.
