And in '17 and '18 he was well below league average. Kickers are volatile.

 

He made 81% of his fgs in 2018. League average that year was 84%. Hardly well below average.

This is why kickers are so overrated. A dude that has been in this league for a zillion years that everyone was gushing about last week about how clutch he is and suddenly he can't hit the broadside of a barn.
