Just some casual 'insider info' on our new punter:

There were 4 teams in the Mix trying to sign him - including the dreaded Bear. Speaking to a couple diehard Bears fans, they claim O'Donnell was almost unilaterally made a Directional punter for the Bears coverage units. They claim, and I don't know if this is accurate or not as I would never choose to watch Bears games, they didn't really want him to use his full leg for the sake of their coverage units. Very consistent holder. Spot filled kickoffs and was decent.

We shall see how he pans out in Green Bay. I am grateful they went conservative, tho, and nabbed a punter with 8 years experience in terrible weather.

Edit to Add: After a very exciting start to the season for Bojo, I actually thought he stunk in the latter half and really stunk in meaningful games. He was all in all, a disappointment and most certainly played a part in the FG unit disasters. Glad to see him go, unfortunately. I had high hopes. There's a reason why the Rams held onto Hekker - who was a shell of himself last year.

As a Bears fan whenever O'Donnell would use his full leg power he would out kick the coverage team which means the returner would have enough space to gain the yardage back or more.  Usually when your punter stretches out your coverage team it is never a good thing unless you can angle it to where the ball goes out of bounds.  O'Donnell wasn't really an accurate punter and there were a lot of times when he would be aiming for a spot he would under kick the punt.

I never understood the appeal for him.

Amos restructured creating $4.7 million of additional room. When Campbell becomes official, they’ll have a few hundred k of room.

Reports are that Cobb’s restructure was a clean pay cut.

Clearly Bojo dropped off in the winter, but pretty much wouldn't anyone?  I've not looked at the other cold weather kickers, but kicking at 20 degrees isn't a picnic... However, he did have some holding issues.

Just glad we aren't going with a rookie this year.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Adams traded to the Raiders.  Had to make sure it wasn't April fool's.

Good thing we didn't just make Rodgers totally untradeable with a big extension. Wait.

Honestly, what are we doing? Just go for it or rebuild. What is this??

Takes two sides to want to make a deal. Sounds like the Packers made a massive offer, which he rejected.

Davante rumored to have agreed to a 5 year $141.25M contract with the Raiders.

Yep. Zero chance the Packers are giving out that contract.

Real small sample size, but they don’t really struggle without him. Probably need to sign a WR and draft a couple, but a deeper more balanced WR room isn’t a terrible thing.  Can’t spend that much on RB/WR

I'm honestly a fan of this move. He's not worth what the raiders are giving him. He's certainly talented but I really don't think he'll be the best wr in football without rodgers throwing to him. Hopefully we can get one of the top wr in the draft

I agree. They need to go get guys to catch the ball though. More than just Jarvis Landry as they've been rumored to be in contact with. That's just crazy money for their situation, get picks, sign more affordable players. Good luck to Davante, wish him well.
