Had all the chances. Injuries starting to catch up with this team. We need Adames and Renfroe back ASAP. And Cain needs to leave this team.

It's concerning that Adames had quad discomfort after his Carolina game and wasn't in the lineup for Nashville again tonight.

Hopefully they don't play over-cautious with Renfroe.  He said he would be good to go Friday if they activate him.

Not only is Cain unplayable but Yelich hitting three is just not a serious debate anymore. I like Counsell overall but man he just is too slow to address the obvious. We have no serious media to get any real feet to the fire answers either. Joe Giradi is being grilled like a brat after every single game. It's wild how Counsell basically can make the decisions he does because nobody and I mean nobody is going to ask him about it.

I'm not concerned until there's another "negative" update. Sophia already said last night that Adames wasn't going to play today. Looks like the new goal for him is the Phillies series.

I could call it more acceptable than successful.

6-5 in 11 games in 10 days against two good teams all on the road with an injury-ravaged team? =successful

I would be tempted to bat Yelich first.

If he gets on base you have your best base runner on.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Why not walk the bases loaded there to at least set up the double play?  Give yourself a  chance at least.

That would load the bases for Happ, who hits LHP very well. I think they were trying to get Morel, then walk two. Wisdom is better vs LH but not on fire. I doubt anyone will ask Counsell about it though.

As for Cain, there's no way you can tell me that a guy like Jonathan Davis or even Brice Turang wouldn't be better than him right now. Renfroe will be back soon anyways (hopefully on Friday), which makes Taylor your starting centerfielder. And if it were Turang to get the call he would ensure that you wouldn't ever have to play Brosseau at SS.

Great start in a pinch by Alexander.

Im not sure why Peterson runs on everything from 3rd with 0 outs.

All in all, good road trio record wise (not health wise unfortunately).

Mets sent Dom Smith to the minors and they are running away with the division. Buck don't play. They basically have set a standard. Brought up the Plummer kid and he is killing it. Brewers just never push the chips in on moves like this. Cain should be released. There is no reason to keep him on the roster. You are not being serious.

You already said that.

Letting games get away like that never feels like a success.

It was with one out, which you see virtually all the time in that situation. A bobble, and maybe he scores, but he won't be able to if he doesn't take off right away. No bobble. The way tonight unfolded, that's not surprising.

I'm glad it wasn't just me who saw his windup/hop and cringed

Didn't even get behind it to charge it. Just terrible.

Choked away two straight games to an awful team. Very unpleasant. Yesterday's defensive clownshow especially...

But how often would they play after Adames and Renfroe come back? Why bring up prospects to have them play once or twice a week.

Yes 1 out (ive had a little to drink).  I didnt like it before the actual out, ball was hit hard.  He didnt get a great jump (you could see from thw wide angle replay).  Im not saying it was unprecedented or the most egregious or errors, but a mistake none the less

That's the Gist of it. The time to bring Turang on board would've been when Adames was IL'd, so he gets the lions' share of SS for 2 weeks & you can leave Urias at 3B. When they didn't do that, you knew you were going to see a game or 2 of Brosseau at SS.

They also DFA'd Cano, who isn't a free agent until 2024 and is owed more than Cain.

Yep. They are not messing around at all. Brewers need to take note.

The thing is the money is spent. It's gone. Why double up the pain by watching him tank games?? It's crazy.

I'm not talking about a permanent stay. All I'm saying is that we can't have Cain on the roster any longer, and that there's no way him or Davis could do worse. What's wrong with bringing Turang up for the Padres series and then sending him back down once Adames returns?

Well if there is one thing you can be sure about, it's that copying the Met's front office is a winning strategy!

This comment is dumb. They have new ownership and management and things appear to be working so far.

100% agree … why double the pain … Cain & Yelich are unwatchable
