Will we see a double or triple MLB debut today?  Alexander, Strzelecki, Barker.

Also, why are we playing a night game on getaway day?  I thought the Cubs still enjoyed their day games.

Not much getaway with the Cubs at home tomorrow and the Brewers a bus ride away from home.

The Cubs seem to play at night on most weeknights  and in the afternoon on weekends, including Friday.

Cardinals completed their sweep of the Padres with Goldschmidt extending his hitting streak to 23, Arenado hitting a HR, and newcomers Donavan and Yepez adding big hits. Tomorrow they move into Wrigley for their first meetings with the Cubs this season.

Fun fact: the team is wearing cotton uniforms today.

Fun fact #2:  They've been playing Major League baseball since the 1800's and in that time Jason Alexander has yet to allow a base runner, much less an earned run.  We have this one in the bag.  Let the summer of Jason commence.

Good god. Brosseau is at short again. Why is Turang not on this team right now? And better yet, why is Kelley still on it considering he's not very good and he won't even be available to pitch tonight?

If it's a one-sided affair, I would almost guarantee it.

Otherwise, I suspect Hader & Williams are in "available, but would love to give them one more day" mode. Sanchez & Milner should be good to go as well.

We won't be seeing Barker, as they just sent him back down to AAA to make room for Alexander.

It’s likely going to take a lot of runs to win tonight.

Maybe they can slug it out to a 10-10 tie going into the 8th inning and win a 2 inning game.

Just what the Brewers need, a guy with no MLB experience playing behind pitchers with no MLB experience.

Adames will hopefully be back in a few days. Bringing Turang up to play behind Wong, Adames, and Urias makes no sense to me and bringing him up to play one or two games makes no sense either.  I’d rather have guys like Brosseau and Peterson as the utility infielders.

I don't have a lot of confidence in Jason Alexander, but I'm hoping he can get through 5+ innings without allowing too much damage. The Brewers are historically terrible against debut pitchers; maybe the Cubs will emulate us

Dodgers trying to avoid being swept by the Pirates at home tonight. This is in addition to their earlier series loss against them in Pittsburgh. Can you imagine the uproar on here if we had accumulated such results?

I’m far more concerned with the lineup than I am with Alexander pitching

Brosseau is not an MLB shortstop

And I’m numb over Yelich remaining in the 3-hole

This has the feel of Hendricks going 6 shutout innings and the Cubs getting double figures against the parade of minor league pitchers. Think Bettinger.

Episode 3 of Obi Wan looks tempting.

About the same as losing 5 games to the Cubs.

This is going to be a disaster.

Interesting use of the future tense.

I said we were due for a 14-3 drubbing given the injury situation.  We may have found that game.  Pity last night got away.
