This just in:

Jakson Reetz Is now entering serious consideration for Brewers Minor League Player of the Year status. What he is doing in Biloxi is now approaching Spaceballs levels of Ludicrous. At this point, it is quite clear he and Jackson Chourio are in a tier by themselves. Lotta ballgames left but it is deserving of mention as he’s literally done it ALL season long to date. And, he’s done it as a late 2021 Minor League FA signing. Legendary stuff.

Joey Wiemer’s prolonged slump off the mysterious hand/thumb injury awhile back has most likely pushed him in the next tier of players at the halfway point. Anywho, fun to briefly mention.

Wish they would give Reetz the bump, he’s clearly figured out the Southern League (or whatever it’s called now).

Tough though with Feliciano needing every inning he can get behind the dish & Alex Jackson on the 40 man, Jakson is kinda log jammed at the moment.

Maybe after the draft or trade deadline.

I guess it depends on how much longer Jackson is going to be out. If it is going to be awhile and they are confident enough in his glove to give him the short side of the catching platoon, I’d say move him up and get him some DH at bats.

Given the news that Robinson is Biloxi-bound, I wonder if that stellar effort was Michele Vassalotti’s farewell appearance at Carolina as well. He deserves it.

I’m SO excite! Me thinks you are right on Michele who has been fantastic in his move to the bullpen - dominant again tonight.  I would also add the couple of players we chatted about yesterday in the GT and Jim today in the Minor League Report could be heading to o Carolina sooner than later - two 24 yo ACL players who could be on an accelerated path. From Jim’s report:

“The two most impressive pitching performances were from a couple of 24-year-olds who got late starts in affiliated ball - recent independent league signee RHP Ryan Middendorf who has been nearly perfect in his five appearances (0.55 WHIP, 0.00 ERA), and second-year Dominican signing LHP Leoni De La Cruz.”
