Four shutouts in seven games for the Cardinals....

They have really looked bad once they started playing some decent teams.  I think they got the dodgers next too?

Yep. 2 more against the Phillies and then the Dodgers.

Brewers seem to be better this year at generating traffic on the bases but they don't seem any better at turning it into runs.

Why I want Josh Bell to insert into the middle of this lineup.

Well, the Reynaud's doesn't seem to be affecting Woody's breaking stuff too badly anymore.

Yeah his breaking stuff looks much, much better than earlier in the year.  He must have been dealing with it for awhile.

I wonder if that was an issue all year.  He seems different since he came back

Any chance hiura surpasses DiMaggio hitting streak this year?

Oh, yes!  I am counting on it!

One cannot be successful and doubtful at the same time!

Also, his three "blow-up starts" were all in the cold against Chicago, Pittsburgh, and Cincinnati....

Rowdy is in a big time funk at the plate right now.

Rowdy is fine ... he ripped one in his 1st AB today ... just some bad luck!

7 for 61.

Granted 6 of the 7 hits we're HRs.

So he's ... an MLB power hitter.  They all go into funks at the plate. The good ones are the ones who can limit those funks to a few games to a week.

not sure what Gamel was complaining about there

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

This is 100% what I wondered. I think it may have a lot to do with his early struggles. And since it’s now treated - he’s only going to get better. He may have simply not had a good feel for his stuff and didn’t know why. Now the why is corrected and look at the results! Love it.

Nice job by Woody there. He seems to be tiring a little bit as he just got off the IL so I'd probably take him out and go with Milner with 2/3 lefties due up.
