Ughhh Montas immediately coughs up the lead.

Let's hope the Yanks play like this when we see them...

They're definitely not as historically good as they were in the first half. Heck, I still view the Astros as the pretty clear favorites in the AL.

The cardinals putting a massive exclamation mark on the end of the 2022 brewers season

It's August 7th....Two whole months to go and a game out of one of two playoff spots.

It may be 8/7 & yes we are only one game back to start the day, but we’ve played less than .500 baseball for three months & that must change SOON if we want to sneak into the playoffs

Despite all the apologists … this is NOT a good team

We have some remarkable players, but most of the 26-man roster - & those shuffling on & off the roster - are not playing good baseball

I will be surprised if “suddenly” we turn things around

This is more than a slump - this is a lengthy trend of bad baseball

Yes … Astros are definitely the team to beat in the AL

There's a difference between what you're saying and the season being "over". I remember the 2019 team that played .500 ball or less for virtually the whole season before riding into the playoffs on the back of a hot September.

Yes … I do … as an avid Brewers fan, I’m hoping for (but not expecting) a similar result

To date … 108 games in (2/3 of the season exactly) … color me “severely disappointed”

Injuries aside - this has been a lengthy & excruciating three months of mediocre baseball

has anyone tested the extent of the swear filter?  After that HR I might!

He had 66AB before today with ZERO home runs.  Welcome to Milwaukee, you get a free HR with every appearance...

In frustration … based on these three months of below average play … I’ve said a few times on this forum that MLW may finish 81-81

I fear that I may very well be accurate in that projection

I cannot imagine - with our upcoming schedule & based on the way we are currently playing - that this team will finish the season with 82 wins

Pittsburgh & Cincinnati are outplaying us with their severely depleted by trade rosters … this was our chance to make a run

Why do I continue to watch these games?

Is it just me or has Votto had a much smaller strike zone than virtually everybody else this weekend.

That has always been the case … not just this year

He has a great reputation for having a good eye so I can imagine the subconcious part of an Umpire gives him the benefit of the doubt on close pitches.

Urius adds to the Brewers ongoing base path mishaps

This 2022 team - unlike the last few years - plays “poor fundamental baseball”

Urias is the third best 3B on the roster.  Pederson and Brosseau both have better WAR per PA than Urias. Pederson with 2.0 so far and he's out for awhile, while Brosseau is about twice Urias in WAR rate. Sure Brosseau has been mostly platooning against LH bats, but there's an argument that Pederson and Brousseau should platoon at 3B and Urias be the utility guy.

I believe it was a trip to SF about this time of the year that started the hot streak.  So yeah, a hot streak now can propel you into the playoffs, but my feeling is that the 2019 team was probably better than this team especially with the injuries to the SP.

edit: OK not a trip to SF and only a 12-10 streak from August 4th - 31st, so I am thinking of some other year (maybe 2018).
