Lamet pitched the 8th inning for the Rockies. 0 R, 2 SO, 2 singles, a wild pitch. Got over 96mph.
Ended up pitching the 9th too, no runs no hits no strikeouts.

If CC runs Bush out there and they lose this one...I'm going to think really hard about being done with this group for awhile.

Are you saying you are apprehensive about failure whenever you see Bush?  ?

Boushley is a AAAA player (or will be once he gets a cup of coffee with a major league team). Nothing wrong with him as an emergency option for a few games and a dozen innings, but he should be in no ones plans for the future. No guarantee he'll be back next year.

He's also a RHP, so not a good replacement for Suter, even though he has consistently had reverse splits.

You are probably not wrong but that's impossible to say without him playing at the next level. Suter had a career 3.3+ ERA in the minors with an unfavorable WHIP and he has been a useful bullpen piece the last few years.

Rodgers got a cortisone shot in his knee…….sounds like he will be fine but wasn’t available tonight

So the Brewers traded Hader and added a guy with a bum knee?

decades of experience with similar players says the chance he'll have of being a long-term contributor is nearly nil.  Like I said, fine to have him in AAA in case of an emergency, and who knows, he could be one of the exceptions.

Hader blew a 3 run lead last night by walking 3 guys, hitting a batter, and giving up a hit. He had to be removed with 2 outs after throwing 37 pitches. He apparently doesn’t like the Giants.

The Padres still won on a walk off by Machado in the last of the ninth.
