The Brewers have managed the seemingly unimaginable collapse of going from 4 games ahead of the Cardinals to 5 games behind them during a stretch of 3 weeks that included half of the 18 games against the Red Sox, Pirates, Reds, and Cubs.

They have to turn things around soon to stay in the playoff hunt because the Padres lineup figures to come around eventually.

It’s pretty amazing that there are three teams not trying to win in our division.   And we really aren’t any better than they are

its pretty damning of the players on this team.    Actually embarrassing

Yelich benched after an atrocious performance yesterday in extras. Let him think about how his performance is costing his team, while he's nevertheless raking in the dough.

It was time to sit him.   I’d sit him for awhile to be honest.

Relevant. We really need a win today, though.

The good news is the Brewers have four more games remaining than San Diego and are two games out of the last wild card spot, so the Brewers ,control their own destiny for the 2nd wild card, but yeah they need to start winning more than twice a week.

Actually they are fighting for the second and third wild card spots along with the Padres and Phillies. Whichever of the Braves and Mets doesn’t win their division is pretty comfortably in control of the first one.

The Brewers controlling their own destiny is a mixed blessing. Because they are losing more games than they are winning it might be better to be ahead in the win column and hope the other teams lose.

So a pitch nearly in the middle of the plate is a ball. Going to be another long day for blue I'm guessing.

And Brosseau looks at strike three and strike four.

We’re going to have to hope for one of the Brewers supposed  aces to outduel Steele to have a chance today. Steele does have the advantage of facing a weaker lineup.

"Supposed aces"? You don't believe Burnes and Woodruff are aces?

One batter and Woodruff already looks to be headed for a short start.
