INF/OF Josh Van Meter signed a Minor League deal with the Yankees organization.  As alluded to in the article, Van Meter spent the majority of his 2023 time in Nashville on the IL. However, despite that frustration he certainly managed to take free passes at a high clip:

Quote

In 2023, he signed a minor league deal with the Brewers but didn’t make it to the majors. He spent significant time on the minor league injured list and only played 46 Triple-A games. Incredibly, he walked in 24.2% of his plate appearances at that level, leading to a bizarre slash line of .199/.400/.362 and wRC+ of 106.

He'll look to get things going for the Yankees in 2024 - here's hoping he stays healthy and gets it going. Van Meter will most likely begin his season in Triple-A Scranton Wilkes-Barre of the International League East.

RHP Dylan File heads back stateside after a brief (two appearances) stint in Korea - Article

Just to add some body to the 'brief (two appearances) stint':

The 27-year-old signed with the KBO’s Doosan Bears last winter but only made two starts. His season debut was delayed when he was hit with a comebacker in preseason play. Not long after making his return, he was diagnosed with elbow soreness (link via Jee-ho Yoo of Yonhap News). The Bears released him in June to sign left-hander Brandon Waddell.

Former Brewers pitching prospect Edrian Robinson suspended 80 games for positive drug test
Associated Press

Former Milwaukee Brewers pitching prospect Edrian Robinson was suspended for 80 games on Friday by Major League Baseball following a positive test for the performance-enhancing substance Boldenone under the minor league drug program.

A right-hander who turns 22 on March 1, Robinson was signed by the Brewers in October 2020 and released last Sept. 25.

He was 0-0 with a 7.94 ERA last year in two starts and 15 relief appearances with the Arizona Complex League Brewers, leaving him 3-1 with a 7.90 ERA in 34 games over three seasons at that rookie level league.

Robinson was fourth player disciplined this year under the minor league program.

We will be following along former 1B/LF/2B Keston Hiura's journey as a member of the Detroit Tigers organization in 2024. Article HERE. He will most likely begin his 2024 season like he began his 2023 season: in the International League West division. This time, however, he will likely be sporting a Toledo Mud Hens jersey. He will likely face the Sounds on Toledo's Home opening day Friday, March 29th.

Stay tuned!

OF David Dahl, who had a nice 67-game prolonged cup of coffee with the Nashville Sounds (a juggernaut of a team) in 2022, has moved out to the East Coast signing with the Philadelphia Phillies on a Minor League deal. The soon-to-be 30-year-old veteran will provide some MLB-caliber depth to the Phillies outfield should Brandon Marsh's knee surgery recovery have any hiccups. Good luck in 2024, Mr. Dahl!

Not sure if this has been reported already, but RHP Jolon “Lun” Zhao, a once promising Brewers farmhand with a jaw-dropping curveball that retired in 2022 due to a lengthy injury history, is back playing in the U.S. in the California Winter League and hopes to rejoin affiliated ball at some point in the near future.

Oh, and he has been a two-way guy this winter with strong results (considering his long layoff) on both sides of the ball.

It would appear both INF's Mike Brosseau and Cam Devanney are non-rostered invites to Royals spring training. Great opportunity for both young men!

Quote

Mike Brosseau hit .302/.378/.558 in 98 plate appearances for the Rays in 2020, but has struggled last year with the Brewers. Overall in five seasons he has .242/.313/.428 in 241 games. The 29-year-old right-handed hitter is capable of playing all over the infield and even a little outfield.

Cam Devanney was acquired last December from the Brewers in the Taylor Clarke deal. The 26-year-old hit .271/.363/.461 with 11 home runs in 103 games for Triple-A Nashville. A right-handed hitter, he primarily plays shortstop but is capable of playing all over the infield

Let's hope one or both grab this chance and run to that elusive Big League roster.

2022 Sounds bullpen Ace and then Brewers fans' proverbial whipping boy, RHP Trevor Kelley has signed a Minor League deal with the Seattle Mariners:

Quote

Kelley, 31, spent last year with the Rays but didn’t have much success. He posted a 5.87 earned run average in 15 1/3 innings at the big league level and a an ERA of 5.23 in Triple-A. He was outrighted off the roster in September. He’s now thrown 50 2/3 innings in the majors overall, also spending time with the Red Sox, Phillies and Brewers, but with a career ERA of 6.75.

Here's hoping he gets another Big League opportunity and can finally find that elusive translation and success!

I will say, Detroit knows what I know:

They rostered Sibrian at Double-A Erie. It. Is. Time. I hope he runs with it and gets the respect on his name he absolutely deserves. 🥰
