I’m also here to complain because this offense is so boring

I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.

I actually think Yelich looks a little better so far, mechanically. He's staying back with his upper half better. If he gets the timing right, I think he can start lifting it a bit better from here. But, we'll see. Frustrating start.

If …

It’s been 3+ years

If we canceled every windy day in Chicago, baseball would never get played.

Big difference when it’s 34 degrees out

1 run should be plenty for the Cubs today.

This may apply to all 162 games against the Brewers offense - certainly games against LH starters

Is showing bunt horribly distracting for some pitchers that they can't throw strikes? Honest question.

Oh absolutely! Though I think it's more a situation-by-situation effect than one particular guy totally not being able to handle it in all cases.

I think it’s an exaggeration to say last year’s offense stunk. They were certainly frustrating to watch at times but overall, performed middle of the pack in most metrics.

I think people underestimate just how bad offense was in baseball last year. Most teams were aggravating as hell to watch.

This is a point that I made several times last year and will probably be making many times this year.

The Brewers are presenting themselves as a team that can make the playoffs (not just be contenders). Evaluated that way, being in the middle of the pack puts the team in a hole relative to the teams that are the top playoff contenders.

Also, the Brewers offense last year had the advantage of playing 57 games against 3 of the worst pitching teams in the league, and they fattened their offensive stats against those teams more than the playoff teams did in their games against bad teams. They won’t have that advantage this year with teams playing more even schedules.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Does anyone else giggle a little when you hear someone say Mastrobuoni?

I picture pasta driving one of the ice things in hockey
