I only pull for the Brewers. I don’t have the Twins like you to turn my attention to when I get frustrated with the team.

It’’s been 3+ years since he injured his knee & started struggling. He had 2 remarkable years. He was rewarded & is now an albatross for a small market team.

Frelick would be a nice change of pace in LF with better defense & a better bat.

Yelich is a swell guy, good teammate, cares deeply - but he is no longer a good hitter. Certainly not worth his salary. Period.

No one would be any happier than me if he suddenly regained his stroke & proved me wrong. I won’t hold my breath.

My alternate fandoms don’t really play into this, as I had enormous frustration over Mauer who was both better and descended more rapidly than Yelich, also immediately following a severe injury.

But they’re both human beings who reached the absolute pinnacle of achievement while we’re just fans. No one, and I repeat no one, is more frustrated with them than themselves.

It’s an important thing to keep in mind.

Be disappointed, be frustrated. Feel your love of the team. But remember, that formerly great player feels it more deeply and intensely than you or I ever will.

Assuming Woodruff didn’t have a physical reason to leave, I wonder if removing him that quickly has to do with this being the first of 13 games without an off day. If they don’t want to use 6 starters they can’t afford to have any of the starters go too deep now if they are going to come back in 5 days this early in the season.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Oh, good point. I hadn’t examined the schedule.

O’Niell wasn’t hustling 😂

Marmol should pull him

He certainly wasn't taking 3-1 with the bases loaded against a pitcher who couldn't find the plate to save his life. Soon we're going to see a Reggie Jackson-Billy Martin incident between those two.

Yeesh.

Well, prove us wrong, Yeli.

What difference does that make?

What is your point?

I don’t care if Yelich is more disappointed than me

I only care that his contract keeps us from having $ to spend on good players or from calling up younger talent to replace him

I hope it’s tonight - with fisticuffs 🥊

Yelich should just put a bunt up the first base line here

I hope he hits a grand slam out of the ballpark & gets traded before tomorrow night’s game

It's an RBI I guess.

It definitely is an RBI.

That AB went sideways with the 2 low “strikes” that got him behind in the count.

Maybe we're talking past each other a bit. I hear a lot of talk about how Yelich is a drag on the team or that he's somehow at fault for the Brewers not being better.

The Brewers signed a contract. The player got injured and hasn't been great since. It happens. It sucks, but it happens. It's not anyone's fault, it's just reality.
