Another Unfulfilled season?

Posted

Boys, the Cards have no chance this year. Offence is good but the SP is atrocious. Not a single quality start yet. Not only do we not have an ace, we don't even have a jack. I expect we will be fighting with the Cubbies for a W/C spot.

I assume you guys still have the good pitching; so how do your bats look?

Huh?

Avengers Endgame GIF

Just a wee joke!

Hitters looking good, Burnes still to catch form, but we're putting balls in play more, and showing much better defense from 2B, RF and CF so far this season

I think the Woodruff v Flaherty matchup tonight could be interesting, a Brewers win will create some pressure much earlier than expected for the Cardinals!

I'll tell you Jake: your guys better watch out for Flaherty 'cause he walked 7 hitters, plunked one and had Contreras crossed up twice  in his FOUR innings of work last time out!

So now I expect Flaherty to allow 1 hit over 8 innings tonight.

EA Sports...It's in the game...until we arbitrarily decide to shut off the server.

You just know he's gonna go 8 no hit innings after the slabbering 😂

We are playing our young guys and they are performing which has us way too excited. 😅

I was never a Yadi fan but I always wondered how many Cards managers looked brilliant because of him. I think the answer might be at least 3, possibly 4.

LOL I'd be tickled pink if we went 5, win or lose!

Yup, he was pretty baseball smart. He watched and remembered everything. I don't know how smart he was in general as I never understood a word he said

I don't believe it.  I don't think there has been a single season in my life where St. Louis didn't at least have a pretty good rotation.

Time, you're in for a pleasant surprise. Oh, I forgot to mention: the pen stinks too.

The Cards haven't lost 90 games since 1990. A whole generation of fans who has never seen them truly suck, even for a single year. I would love nothing more than for them to quickly fall 10 or 15 games under .500 and be completely irrelevant all year. Have they ever been sellers at the deadline?

It's good for a fan base to experience some lean years. It makes you appreciate the good times.

We started out hot last season and we all know how that ended so it's kind of hard to give a realistic report. The one thing you can see right away is it's the most athletic bunch we've had in a long time. There will be hitting slumps and the freshmen will need to make adjustments as opposing teams get a book on them but the overall athleticism is noticeable. The defense could be outstanding with a pretty high floor. Pitching wise, three shutouts already tells you all you need to know. The pen has a lot of question marks but we've upgraded the power in the pen and so far so good.

There needs to be a King Thames version of the bible.
