Robinson follows with a beautiful curve for the swinging K for the first out - spin rate on that was roughly 2600 rpm while 83 mph on the gun. He gets the deep line out to Sparks in RF. He closes with the weakly hit grounder to 2B. He dug deep. He executed during adversity. He grabbed his 8th Save. Wonderful work, Cam!

He was put on the 7 day DL earlier today. I didn't see anything and not sure if they cited a particular injury.

He bruised his hand on the swing in the 6th inning this past Friday. I talked about it at length in the original GT this past Friday. Cyrt Hogg confirmed it today in a tweet that it was indeed the hand  (my speculation here as it was the only swing during the final AB it could have been - fwiw, I linked the GT in the Minor League Transactions thread if you care to look at it.):

Rough outing for LHP Clayton Andrews tonight. He just didn't have it whatsoever. He leaves the bases juiced with only one down for RHP Thyago Vieira. The Sounds are clinging to a 10-7 lead. Andrews came to the hill with nobody on and nobody out to start the inning. Since his option assignment from the Crew he just hasn't been nearly as sharp.

Fantastic work from Vieira. We will take that effort any night. Just really really dialed in with his off-speed stuff early and often and that made his heater lethal. He gets 2 K. A weak 91.3 mph dribbler through the infield scored 1. BUT he gets the Save and helps the Sounds win a big one they really had no business winning for the majority of the game. Love the fight. Love the spirit. Great win.

In his last 3 games Idalberto Santiesteban is 6 for 11 with 3 walks 0 Ks. Not sure what’s up with him. Must have a lingering injury or something. In beginning of season he was starting every day then over last month has big gaps all over his game log. Only 50 total PA & 22 in July.

Be nice to see him in line up everyday again & finishing season strong. His report is a possible .300 hitter which he is doing but love to see him tap into some power. He’s a well built kid, has to be some power to tap into. Only one XBH & that was in first game of season.

Also is his name he goes by Idalberto or Yunior? I’ve seen both online.

A clean inning for RHP Ryan Middendorf with two clean scoops and throws from SS by INF Freddy Zamora. Confirmed: an angel got its wings.

I made it to the Biloxi game tonight, another good one and exciting team.  Zamora made all the plays tonight except one bouncing grounder hit at him.  He sat back and let it "eat him up" instead of charging it and making the play.  He cleans that up and can still be a player at SS.

Agreed. This was a much improved game from Zamora, however, and I'll absolutely take that. He needs to make these performances routine and that type of lazy eat him up grounder the absolute exception. As my eyes see it on the nightly, that's his Achilles' Heel at present: too suave and nonchalant with those weakly hit grounders. I've seen him biff too many in 2023 to date and they are plays we all know he can make. He's an incredibly smooth athlete overall. As a fan, I simply want to see him expedite that sense of urgency. The arm has the strength and it would appear - for the most part - the pre-injury 2022 accuracy woes are mostly behind him. Murray even gave you a nice web gem grab and rocket to first from beyond the 3B foul line. Fun game to go to!

Another facet of the DSL Cerveceros Uno Box and Game Logs that is popping out to me as I finish up my Minor League report:

Don't sleep on OF Brian Sanchez. Very intriguing contact numbers. Very healthy BB:K ratio. There's definitely enough there in 94 PA's to be very intrigued.

1B/DH/LF Yeison Perez alert:

2-for-2, 1 R, 3 BB

Season BA up to 0.313 and OPS up to 0.841

He's starting to wake up and make some more noise...let's go, young man!

O’Rae was replaced defensively to start 8th after being hit by pitch in bottom of 7th. Hopefully nothing serious

That's a respectable day with 3 full season affiliate wins, but it's also Wisconsin's 4th straight loss and they were 1-hit.

I suggest we be bold and push a slew of players up to High-A: Adams, Lara, Guilarte, Areinamo, Chirinos, Sibrian. They all deserve it and don't seem to be challenged enough in Low-A, in my opinion.

I'd actually say that's a productive night for Choruio again.. if pitchers are out of the zone more often, and he's taking his walks (may also explain the K's) that'd be the last big hurdle for him

Having had two straight walks (one in a 3-1 count, one in a full count) he was struck out looking in 0-2 count, and again in a 2-2 count, not whiffing but just taking pitches, a good thing for him to work on. Though Tyler Black also a called strike victim, which is unusual for him, curious what the strike zone was like last night?

It's toe wet season! Really there should be some movements coming throughout system (usually after trade deadline you see the shuffle.)

Di Turri and Rodriquez really don't need to be in DSL anymore.

O'Rae, Baez, in Arizona

Adams, Guilarte, Lara in Carolina (Areinamo if room, since May 6th he has been a .332/.351/.426, .098 iso, wRC+122 player.

Martinez and Gray Jr in Wisconsin. Martinez literally played almost 50 games with nearly 200 PA in AAA in 2019 when 20yo with no experience over rookie ball and posted a 113 wRC+ BB% of 11, hit a slash of .262/.356/.445. Then lost 20' for covid, and most of 22' with injury. Now he just turned 24, has been in system since 2017, move him on up already.

Black, Quero (let Chourio stay for now and keep improving. No need to rush, Just now starting to fully click

I want to see all these promotions.  100% agree on Chourio as well.  Not sure at 19 he would benefit all that much in Nashville.  What he needs is time in a strength and conditioning program.  I'd also like to see if can continue to terrorize Southern League pitching

The problem is where are the promotions from A+ to AA. Just not a lot of guys in Wisconsin who have earned promotions. Martinez has absolutely earned it. I guess you could also push Hall, Miller, Ward, JGJ, Acosta just based on age and how long they have been at A+ but it's just been a mostly underwhelming group at A+ this season.

Thanks. Yeah, I was assuming that hot bats Miller, Martinez and Ward could go up to AA Biloxi, while taking advantage of several open roster slots at High-A Wisconsin.

But now that we've gotten Eduardo Garcia and Eduarqui Fernandez back today, the math admittedly gets trickier.

I'm thrilled with Lara's contact and balls out hustle on the basepaths. Areinamo's the smooth defender who's also hitting now. Adams is feasting on Low-A pitching. I guess Chirinos can stay down. And maybe swap Jheremy Vargas and Daniel Guilarte, since this seems like an excellent opportunity for Guilarte to play some High-A shortstop. Surplus infielders can always rotate through the outfield like Turang and Black did last year...
