Here's to hoping Fastball Freddy has one of his "on" nights and is in total control right from the get go.

This Brewers team is funny, they win 9 straight over solid competition, but they got swept at home by the As earlier this year.  You just never know which version of them you're going to see.  Here's to hoping it's the team that got us within striking distance of some free George Webb burgers.

Welcome to Brewer Fanatic and great username!

There's positive scenarios that can be raised, and negative ones.

We all know who's compelled to raise the former, and obsessed to raise the latter.

Me, I tend to have the attitude that the Cubs will lose enough games from here on out for us to win the division. It just depends on whether or not we take advantage.

I remember in past seasons, when we'd be in 1st place, I'd always say that at some point we'd be challenged, and that's fine. It's how you respond to it. That's a cliche. It's also 100% accurate.

Let's not be too quick to label the offense as "disappearing" again until we get past the current stretch from Wednesday through this weekend. I'd include Tuesday except that the conditions were much more effective that day than Steele was.

Please read my post a little more carefully.

The words “would be” are important in making it clear that this is something that probably  “would” happen IF the Cubs win the division, not something that I said “will happen”.

Neither I nor edfunderburk said that we are assuming that the Cubs are winning the division.

Yeah, but when you add “I’m glad I’ll be in Europe that weekend”, the reasonable/logical implication is that you think it will happen…

Face it: We have a tough row to hoe.  Cubs are hot; Phillies are hot; we seem to have reverted to our customary punchless offense.

But it's baseball.  Anything can happen.  Thank goodness for the 9-game winning streak or we'd really be up the creek. Let's win and shut up my whining!

Brewers are 8-2 in their last 10. Cubs and Phillies are both 7-3.

so yeah. . . Stop whining?

I have tickets to the Friday game of the Cubs series and I’m looking forward to seeing the Brewers clinch the division and Cubs fans filing out of the ballpark with frowns on their faces!

Yeah, it’s not going to get much easier against Wheeler and Nola the next two nights.

Wrong again.

You couldn’t even quote me correctly.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Nola's a horse, and obviously capable of spinning a gem. But he hasn't gotten through the 6th in his last three starts. I'm hoping for at least a return of the quality/lengthy ABs we saw vs San Diego.

Oops I forgot to add “kind of”! That totally changes everything.

Here.   I will solve this for everyone

If the brewers hit like the worst offense in the national league over these last 29 games, which they are capable of, they will lose the division.   And the wild card will be close.

if they hit better than that which I also think they are capable of they will be fine

its simple

If what I've heard about Donaldsons' personality is correct, I can't wait for him to win us a ballgame & afterward have to answer hard-hitting questions like "How awesome is it to contribute to your new team?"

It would require a collapse from the Brewers or an incredible hot streak among the three teams currently vying for 6th seed for the Brewers to not make the playoffs.

Personally I've never had much use for the "company man" (or in this case company woman) type announcers. But as far as I know all teams have them. From what I've seen from other broadcasts she's probably better than most at what she does.

Just funnin'. 😉
