So what? Let them. That's the best opportunity you could get. A chance to turn momentum and get the ball back and it's still 14-3. They needed a momentum shift.

Anyone else expect them to score a td there. Glad they didn't.  It has to be that he thought they would go for it if he declined, but even then maybe that would have been a better choice?

I don't think it's really that egregious. That's a really low percentage play after accepting the penalty. You hope for incompletion or not enough of a gain so that they kick the FG. At 24-3 the game is all but over.
