Then don’t pitch him tomorrow

Then you have a longer layoff before the postseason…CC has a plan and isn’t going to deviate from it just for that extra emotional element.

Why not play it like a playoff game and pinch run Perkins?

I hate they are playing the 8th/9th like this…. probably Rowdy in 10th.

So please explain why in the world Turang is bunting with no strikes but not with one? I guarantee the playoffs are liable to become a showcase for some ridiculous Counsell decisions.

Just like the regular season, right?

I feel like we match up better vs the Cubs than the Marlins.  Not sure how much I want them to win tonight

I think we match up much better against an Alcantara-less Marlins team.

Their penchant for disappearing offense still leaves me a little hope for much in the playoffs.

Doesn't matter how good your pitching is if you're putting up less than three runs because even our best pitchers will get dinged by really good lineups

Probably because he’s going to use Devin tomorrow one last time and doesn’t want to pitch him back to back.

I get it but I don’t want to risk giving the Cubs life, letting them clinch a playoff spot and then bringing a boatload of Cubs fans here next week.

Forget about anything else…. I thought we want to be playing good ball going into the playoffs. Yet we throw our absolutely worst pitchers to close games? And right, no pinch runner on first in tied game in 9th for catcher. Just play baseball like normal.

Maybe I’m misremembering but I feel like the last time we played them they pitched awesome and had lefty after lefty pitch

That’s who we are. Maybe the best pitching staff in baseball, solid defense, and 23rd rank in team hitting (last I checked).  We’ll see how the experiment pans out in the playoffs.

Why anyone would want a team that is going to have as many fans in our stadium as ours makes zero sense.    They should have buried this team when they had the chance

They’ve got a ton of young lefties, yes.

It is what it is. Devin being ready for the postseason is more important. Plus, the Cubs are still highly unlikely to make the postseason regardless of this outcome.
