Parking

The Milwaukee Brewers have moved to a License Plate Recognition system for all American Family Field parking lots. Parking attendants will be onsite to direct people to specific spots, however there will no longer be cashiers or scanners.

Fans can either pre-purchase advance parking and activate their parking once onsite or purchase parking onsite via a QR code. Payments for parking can be made with Apple Pay, Google Pay or credit card.

Third Street Market Hall Annex

Working with 3rd Street Market Hall, the Brewers have created a space inspired by the experience of the original location at The Avenue in downtown Milwaukee. The American Family Field area will be called 3rd Street Market Hall Annex and will be located on the right field loge level of the stadium, with four local vendors: Kompali Tacos, Smokin’ Jack’s BBQ, KAWA (Asian fusion) and Anytime Arepa (Venezuelan). In addition to the food offerings, the space has been redesigned and reconfigured as a gathering spot with a gaming area.

(from link above)

In addition, the Brewers Team Store in left field at the stadium is being expanded and its sales floor reconfigured to add more selection in all retail categories, including a customization corner, more space for gameday shopping and a streamlined check-out process in a newly added register room.

The parking change sounds like a huge improvement.  Last year you could get to within site of the stadium an hour before the game and not make it in until the 3rd inning due to the traffic jams.

I'm curious how this works. So it logs your license plate when you arrive and you pay by license plate. That I get. But what if you don't pay? How would they find your car? Who would ticket you? Brewers wouldn't have the power to ticket. Curious how it is enforced. Towed? But once again, how do they locate? I do like the efficiency of it.

My usher buddy said there will be citations if you don't pay, with the company in charge going around the lots starting in the third inning and using whatever scanning technology on every plate to see who didn't pay. The first citation is $2 plus the parking fee with the fine increasing with every violation after that.

Hmm, and I wonder what happens if you don't pay that. I'm a rule follower but plenty aren't.

You might get away with it once. I imagine they will try to send you a bill. If you don't pay (or if they can't figuring out where to send the bill) they will tow it if they see that plate again. If they do figure out where to send the bill they also have the option of just selling it to a debt collection service after some time frame.
