19-year old RHP Bishop Letson (5.2 scoreless innings with 8 Ks in 2 games) sees his first game action in 10 days, with the Low-A Mudcats needing a win at home against Salem to salvage a 3-3 series tie. Kay-Lan Nicasia (.818 OPS in 70 PAs) makes his 2nd start in center field this year.

It’s been a struggle thus far for 22-year old RHP Carlos F. Rodriguez (8.34 ERA in 22.2 IP), who’s starting on 4 days’ rest for the 2nd time this year. AAA Nashville trails the series in Louisville 4-1. CF Isaac Collins may be 5’8”, but he leads the team in SLG (.657) and OPS (1.077 in 81 PAs).

High-A Wisconsin has already clinched a series win in Peoria (up 4-1), but we need a Sunday sweep to avoid a collective losing week (8 MILB wins, 12 losses thus far). RHP Edwin Jimenez (4.50 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, 6.8 K/9 in 16 IP) is tonight’s starter. RF Eduarqui Fernandez (.315 AVG, .869 OPS in 62 PAs) has a 5-game hitting streak.

Tyler Black with a 2 HR game. Although I think it's worth noting that the baseball seems to carry way more in AAA. I don't think 98.8 EV, 30 LA is carrying 380 in the MLB.

CF-Rod cruised through 4 scoreless, but now he’s like a cop-hero who’s out of bullets and can only throw things at the criminal. 4 walks and 2 runs last inning. Lead-off walk the next inning. Only his sinker seems to be coming over for strikes. Sounds lead 6-2, but CF-Rod really needs a reprieve.

No help arrives, so CF-Rod goes 3-and-0 to the next batter and gives up a double and single on the next 2 pitches. Similar to Bennett’s 2 extra runs added to his line last night.

Sounds 6, Bats 4 in the bottom of the 6th inning. 1-on, still nobody out. Harold Chirino comes in.

Throwing up to 96.6mph, Chirino nicely cleaned up that 6th inning. They’re off to the 7th, Nashville hanging on 6-4.

Yhoswar Garcia may lead the Carolina League in stolen bases (11 in 15 games) and have come in with only 2 homers in ~3 seasons played, but he knows when he’s gotten one.

They’re in the 8th inning now, but I’d assume Carolina Manager Nick Stanley may leave RHP Josh Timmerman in to try to finish off this 3-2 game. He’s thrown 66-73 pitches in his other games this year and is only up to 46 here. Fingers crossed.

RHP Jacob Misiorowski (3.68 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, 13.5 K/9 in 14.2 IP) makes makes his 2nd start of the week for AA Biloxi, who could use a win to only lose the series 4-2. C Darrien Miller’s reward for his .452 OBP (and .864 OPS in 42 PAs) is a turn atop the lineup.

Stanley ended up pulling Timmerman after 49 pitches and going with RHP Morris Austin in the 9th inning, leading 4-2.

3B Juan Baez started the inning with an error and things got real hairy: 4-3, bases loaded, 1 out. But Baez and Austin redeemed themselves by getting a 5-4-3 GIDP to end the game!

Isaac Collins added a solo homer, then Harold Chirino, Darrell Thompson (welcome back from the IL) and Corbin Martin shut the door.

Sounds win 7-4! That’s 2 wins in 2 games thus far today. Let’s get 2 more to finish the week even at 12 wins, 12 losses!

Edwin Jimenez is already at 79 pitches thru 4 innings, but he’s usually good for a minimum 5 innings, so Victor Estevez stays with him for now.

The T-Rats scored 2 runs in the top of the 6th inning without hitting the ball out of the infield. We’ll take it and the lead: 7-6.

Jimenez will surely exit at 93 pitches, having yielded 6 runs.

Luke Adams has gotten on base all 5 times today (3 walks, 2B, 1B), hitting a 2-out RBI single to stretch the lead to 9-6 in the 8th inning.

Then Matt Wood walks and Jadher Areinamo smacks his first blast of 2024. The 3-run shot makes it 12-6!

Gregory Barrios moves back into the Midwest League lead in doubles, grabbing his 9th double of 2024 and knocking in 2 runs in the process. He’s got a 4-RBI night. 14-6 Timbers Rattlers.

Misiorowski started well. No hits, 1 walk, but 2 WP that gave up a run.

6 K in 3.2 IP.

Offense still sleeping. 9 hits, but only 2 runs and 12Ks.

Not shocking. Not shocking at all. My favorite from the Pensacola series was a vintage Brewers special in game 1 with the bases juiced a nobody down and scoring zero runs. Their offense is just really not good through one month.
