The way the pirates are swinging this is going to be a tough series.

The “easier“ May schedule isn’t playing out that way.

When you’re trying to win games you can’t have someone out there hitting less than .200 with a OPS of like .450 like Jackson is right now. It’s ridiculous how you would defend him for getting “thrown around” he just got almost 100 million dollars. He needs to perform or get sent back to AAA where he belongs right now

The key is his development gets you closer to your goal than anything Jake Bauers does. Is Jake Bauers a fine guy to have around? Sure. Is this season about Chourio or Bauers. Definitely Chourio.

The goal is to make the playoffs and win. Bauers has always had power. He hit like 12 HR’s in less than 80 games last year.

We need Chourio to develop and help us at the end of the year and beyond. Same with Abner. Long term thinking is what baseball honchos do.

If that were the case Burnes would still be here. The goal is to develop the next wave of young talent to set you up to stay relevant.

Burnes would have left after the season and the Brewers needed to get something for him and Ortiz could definitely be a future star for the team. Jackson hitting .200 and chasing everything isn’t going to help his development. He needs to get his swing right in the minors

You said the goal of this season is to win. I said development of young guys. Sounds like you agree with me after all.

Reynolds is going to end up with 10 hits in this series.

Hopefully umps don't give him 4 strikes in multiple AB every day the rest of the series.

Isn't that a fair ball if the fielder is fair and the ball is foul?

Yes.

Rea did Rea things to give us a chance. Murphy punted the game with White and Vieira but Bauers of all people gets the grand salami??? lol. We probably lose the game after the Payamps inning but decent attempt by the offense

It’s where the ball is not where the fielder is

I really hope this is Murphy’s only season managing the Brewers.

What don’t you like about Murphy?

Pirates tend to play the Brewers tough.

I think the Central is going to be like this all year. Lot of 3-4 game win streaks, but no team really clearing daylight. Hoping we can win these next two and take the series. Big difference between a 4-3 and 5-2 homestand.
