3B Luke Adams is back from an evidently minor injury. High-A Wisconsin can clinch a home series over Beloit behind RHP Alexander Cornielle today.

Luis Lara left the game after stealing a base. Looked like a hand/finger injury. Maybe a dislocation/broken finger based on his reaction.

Yerlin Rodriguez with another blown save. That's now 8 ER in his last 4 appearances.

It’s time for RHP Jacob Misiorowski & AA Biloxi to return the no-hit favor in Mississippi. Welcome back to the lineup Ernesto Martinez - how we’ve missed you! The Shuckers trail 3-1 in this week’s series.

Have to keep reminding myself that 1) This is the youngest ACL team for both hitters and pitchers and 2) pitching in the ACL is more about surviving than excelling.

Yep 5.43 ERA for the ACL. The kids are struggling though, league worse 8.27 ERA. Only 6 guys in the staff with an ERA under 4.5

1B Tyler Black is back after a 2-game absence. AAA Nashville has LHP Aaron Ashby on the bump tonight as they seek a 5th straight win at Jacksonville.

Just what we need - another IL stint for a prospect with a possible injury in the game - between HBP or on the base paths (stealing or diving back), seems like a lot of injuries for multiple players.  Not a great year for health.

Y. Rod - stuff is too good to struggle this much. And KC Hunt with a poor stat line, I will watch his performance later but this doesn't match his pure stuff

Bitonti heating up. Probably getting the bump up to Carolina before to much longer.

His first 3 games: 13 AB, 1 H, 0 BB and 6K

His next 8 Games thru today: 33 AB, 12 H (2 2B, 4 HR), 8 BB and 10 K.

Still a lot of Ks, but better BB rate, AVG, SLG in the past 2 weeks. Encouraging. I agree, I hope he can keep it up and see time in Zebulon this season.

Heckuva game for Luiyin Alastre: 4 hits, 4 RBIs. And LHP Anfernny Reyes continues to get results. If the over-arching goal was winning, I bet he’d be throwing more innings, but the organization knows why he’s best-suited to ‘pen work.

Ashby with another hard to watch start. I wonder if/when he gets sent to Arizona. Just seems like it can't be best for him to labor through high pitch innings every start.

JESUS CHIRINOS WITH A WALKOFF 3-RUN MOONSHOT TO LF ON A SLIDER THAT STAYED UP!

Just an awesome moment for Chirinos. Awesome awesome moment. 0-2 count, no less!

Gotta love the call there from Mehring. Do you think he was excited?

Ernesto Martinez Jr. back in the line-up as a DH. Love to see it.

RHP Jacob Misiorowski gave us the ol' 5 BB in 3 2/3 IP routine today. Sigh. He minimized any damage, however as he does in his control crazy tightrope walk.

It's 4-1 Shuckers in the bottom of the 5th frame. Darrien Miller and Zavier Warren are each 2-for-2. Wilken's offensive struggles continue since his return: 0-for-3 so far.

I completely agree. I have been waiting for this for a while now. Or limit his innings. He did well in the 2nd. And bumps in the 3rd. Could have called it a day there. Like last start. Build some confidence slowly.
Wity the pitch counts and innings he is logging, easily enough to go through at the complex and work on control and command or just find the things that do work for him and focus on that.  A two pitch pitcher with control can still be an effective reliever.

He is unhittable though

all he needs to do is get the ball in the strike zone more often, hitters are typically overmatched against him.

That's the most frustrating part. He doesn't even need to be on the edges to have success. He can just pour pitches into the strike zone and have success and he just can't consistently do it. Still very young, but he really hasn't made much improvements in command in the last 12 months. I still feel like he needs to add a considerable amount of weight which I think would help him with consistency.

LHP Justin King with a clean 2 K inning. Good for him! Keep grinding and keep going, Justin.

EBJ finally found some holes. 2-for-4 in the lead-off. Good sign. Shuckers win 5-2. Certainly looks like RHP Sam Carlson had to work around some runners on the base paths in the 9th.

At 18-20 the Shuckers are still a mere 3.5 GB of 1st place Montgomery/Pensacola. All they need is a little run. A little win streak. Start consistently scoring some runs and keep those low outputs on the opponents' scoreboard.

It seems assured, if they keep up their current pace, that Bitonti, Di Turi and Alastre will see Carolina at some point this year. Unless someone moves down at the same time, however, a promotion now would be interesting logistically. I believe only 10 hitters took all of the at bats for the ACL Brewers Tuesday-Saturday, which seems pretty unusual for a Complex League team. Plus one of those, Ibarguen, left after one at-bat Saturday (no clue if it is injury related). I don't know if it is injury or an organization choice that led to Pereira and Walther getting no at bats since Monday and Tyler Rodriguez getting none in more than a week, but this roster is fairly thin until Nadal and Adamczewski return.
