Totally different circumstances but this reminds me of Wilbur Wood, a knuckleballer who once started both games of a doubleheader back in the 70s. Lost both games. Wood usually threw around 350-375 innings a year in that 3-4 year stretch. 

Tip to bettors: take the under with Koenig re innings pitched.🤔

Makes sense with Wilson and Rea, both guys who usually get pulled before going through the lineup a third time.  Have Koenig get through the gauntlet of lefties in the first and then that allows Wilson and Rea to get through the 6th or hopefully 7th inning only having to face the top of the order twice.

If we had a quality starting rotation we wouldn't have to resort to gimmicks like this.
