CF Jose Anderson was shifted to a lead-off slot...and

Welcome back to the 'Hype Chat' Mr. Anderson! Whewwww boy.

3-for-4, 4 R, 1 RBI, 2 BB, 1 HR, 1 2B, 1 SB?

Mash Up Good Job GIF

Really nice to see headlining INF Jorge Quintana with a solid day at the dish:

1-for-4, 2 R, 3 RBI, 2 BB, 1 K, 3 SB

My goodness, there's a lot of zesty picante in that offensive box score. 10 SB as a team? LOL.

Heck of a start by 18-year-old Venezuelan RHP Argenis Aparicio (who continues to have a fantastic season) in 5 IP with 6 H, 1 BB, 1 ER, 1 HR, 2 K.

The DSL Crew Dos lead 14-4 in the 9th inning. They are absolutely trending ⬆️.

DSL boys scoring runs aplenty. DSL-2 with 2 TDs 9(14 runs, however only on 7 hits, but Royals giving 14 free passes and 2 errors wow). DSL-1 only a TD on 8 hits. Made had a nice day 3-3 with a walk. And Peña “only” 1-4 with a double, …. And checks box score …. Yup a stolen base. Good grief #24 in 20 games. And fun fact - he has as many doubles (7) as strikeouts (7), and more walk/HBP (5 and 3 for a totals of 8) than strikeouts. Sheesh. This is a very offense friendly league, and a lot of wild pitching, wild defense, se numbers are off the charts even factoring in all these things.

ACL boys trying to keep pace with 4 runs in 2 innings. Bitonti in a mini “slump” as he’s 1-7 this month so far with 4 K (0-1 with a walk today).  Maybe he’s bummed he hasn’t gotten the call to Zebulon😉 - c’mon big fella let’s get a few big hits and force the issue

Jospeh and I both with DSL posts, but highlight different players - says a lot of the DSl squads that we can both highlight different players of note😳

With that 7-4 victory today, the DSL Cerveceros Uno are now 14-8 overall. This win moves them  within 1/2 G of the 1st place (divisionally speaking as the DSL Rangers Red hold a 18-4 record 😳) DSL Orioles Orange . The DSL Cerveceros Dos, who I discussed above, moved to 13-9 and have pulled all the way back to 3rd place with their recent run of play. A mere 1.5 GB the first place tie between the DSL Pirates Gold (14-7) and the DSL Cleveland Goryl (15-8).

The DSL Crew Uno move their run differential to a + 31 (126 RS, 95 RA) while the DSL Crew Dos are back on the positive side with a + 9 after todays outburst (126 RS, 117 RA). Those same Rangers Red mentioned above? They've scored 192 runs while allowing only 88. My goodness. A DSL force to be reckoned with.

Rehabbing RHP Easton McGee pitched his third outing today and doubled his previous inning allowances. 2 IP, 2 H, 1 BB, 1 ER, 3 K.

The Crew just led off their top of the 4th with a BB - picked off. Adamczewski then singled - CS 2B. Ouch. They still lead 4-1. Headed to the bottom half as RHP Melvin Hernandez aims to pitch his second scoreless frame.

Hernandez is running into a bit of trouble here to open the bottom of the 5th frame. Lead off ground-rule double. Single. Runners on the corners. Nobody out. Crew still lead 4-1.

Hernandez just K'd the next batter on three straight pitches. One down. Let's see if he can escape! The runner on 1st just eliminated the DP ball by swiping 2nd. The situation just got a bit tougher.

Really nice outing for RHP Melvin Hernandez who just finished his fifth frame with a swinging K. He has now completed 5 IP of 4 H, 0 BB, 4 K, 1 HB, 1 ER ball. A very solid effort. The ACL Crew lead 4-2 headed to the 8th inning. Bitonti started his day with a free pass but has since struck out twice in an 0-for-3, 1 BB, 2 K outing. He did manage to steal his 7th base of his season. Adamczewski has gone 2-for-3 in the lead-off spot - 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 SB (his 5th), 1 CS.

Bitonti struggling this month. Now 1-9 with 6K in July. 🙁

Yes small sample size, and I’m just impatient but want him to just take and force himself to the Mudcats.

Also can we continue to talk about Melvin Hernandez, happy belated birthday young man, just 18 years and 1 day old, and 39 K in 37 IP in 9 games. That’s 4 IP per appearance, which is a lot for the complex.  I am hopeful he can be next years M.  Rodriguez or E. Cortez. He’s listed as 5’ 11” and 139 😳😳. Maybe a growth spurt gets him some more size and years of development ahead.

Adamczewski just went yard with two down in the 9th. 5-2 ACL Crew. Big insurance run there. Rodriguez and Bitonti singled with two down to put men on the corners. But, Holguin just lined out to SS to end the threat. 5-2 to the bottom of the 9th we go.

In the bottom of the 8th, 19-year-old Venezuelan RHP Jesus Flores worked around a two out bases loaded jam by getting a K to end the threat. Let's see if he comes back in the 9th to try and close this out.

It's a silly small sample for Bitonti. I'd temper the frown. He's 2-for-10, 3 BB, 6 K. That's three games of output. It just doesn't mean much whatsoever. What does is 0.305 BA and 1.004 OPS on the season. I'm not even all that concerned by 46 K on the season. He also has 29 free passes. The strikeout rate is obviously higher than we'd like overall but we're essentially seeing a true three outcome at this stage of his very young career: BB (22%), K (35%), XBH (15%). He's 18 years old. We can absolutely work with this regardless of how July has started.

RHP Jesus Flores works around SS Tyler Rodriguez's 2nd charged throwing error of the afternoon and ends up K'ng the side. He goes 2 IP, 2 H, 2 BB, 5 K to close out the Crew's 5-2 victory. They move back to six games under 0.500 at 19-25. Keep climbing, men! Let's get back to the middle ground and work from there! Flores picks up his first Save of 2024. Hernandez grabs the 'W' and moves to 2-1.

Here's a fun one.

The Brewers as an organization across 7 Levels of organizational baseball - MLB, Triple-A, Double-A, Single-A, ACL, and DSL - hold a whopping compiled record of:

272-208

We are experiencing a season in which the organization, as a whole, is in the early second half and share a 64 games over 0.500 record.

Still getting used to spelling Adamczewski? Looks like you copy and pasted it over haha. That's Josh's 1st professional HR so congratulations to him!

Absoooooolutely. I have my running 'Prospect Notes' document(s) up on another screen. That is a surefire Copy/Paste. I put all the hard names in a separate document that remains open at all times. 😅 Writing reports and commenting in the forums as much as I do I can only free-hand type so many Zastryzny's and Adamczewski's.

Low-A Carolina is back home in Zebulon to continue this week’s away-and-home series against Down East, trailing 2 games to 1. The youngest pitcher in the Carolina League, RHP Enniel Cortez makes his 3rd start at this level (8 IP, 1 R, 8 Ks thus far) and SS Cooper Pratt has a 36-game on-base streak.

Sorry meant to be sarcasm font. I think given how awesome his start has been, when you look at his monthly splits it just sticks out - but yes one good game tomorrow or the next day and all is well. I know he will be well.

Seriously you take away the first 3 games of the ACL season and his last three games, his numbers are incredibly silly good.

Thrilling 22-year old RHP Logan Henderson aims for his 5th Win in his 5th AA start (1.66 ERA with 29 Ks in 21.2 IP). Biloxi bussed up to Pearl, Mississippi to continue their series against the Braves, leading 2 games to 1. 1B Zavier Warren has 22 RBIs over his last 19 games.

24-year old LHP Brian Fitzpatrick (3.60 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, 9.2 K/9 in 45 IP) makes his 15th appearance (4th start) for High-A Wisconsin, which is back in Appleton aiming to grow their 2-1 series lead over Beloit. SS Jadher Areinamo has a 1.156 OPS during his 16-game hitting streak.

Biloxi and the ACL squad are the only ones with a losing record. And Biloxi could have a solid second half if the offense (Boeve, Wilken, CDRod, ORae, Miller) can stay consistent as the talent is there, and with strong performances by the pitching crew (Blalock, Henderson, Miz and Smith). ACL not as big of a concern as far as records. Nashville is around .500 and could go up or down. But the W-L for a team is not as important as player development, but the system having success and winning game WHILE developing players is exciting!

I completely forgot we're back in Zebulon. LOL. Chris Edwards on the call. It's 2-0 Down East - Cortez has given up two solo jacks.

Brewer Fanatic Contributor

Cortez gets the swinging K to end the 2nd frame for Down East. That's now 2 IP, 2 ER, 2 HR, 1 BB, 4 K. Pitch count already up to 40.

The Mudcats trail 3-0 headed to the 4th. They've only made the Down East pitcher expend 31 pitches in the process. Simmering Reece Walling (back in RF this evening) has a double as the lone Mudcat knock.

RHP Brailin Rodriguez pitches a clean 4th frame in relief of the young Cortez. He gets the ground out to Pratt at SS, a swinging bunt fielded by García who fired to 1B for the out, and he worked around a single when in a 1-2 count García threw out the runner attempting to take 2B. Let's see if the snoozefest that is the Mudcats bats can change course.
