That's not good enough. Murphy needs to make sure his best hitters are taking more ab than the bad ones. That's it. 😀

Yeah, didn't say I agreed with it but Murph is determined to make it so no matter the outcomes.

Rutledge probably has one more inning.

So they can bring in better pitchers?

Contreras has been whiffing a lot on outside pitches.

It certainly seems like all pitchers he faces are going outside a lot recently.  They seem to have him figured out.

He hasn't been the same since the Houston series and that was quite some time ago.

I'd guess that 30/30 MLB managers, GMs and FOs would disagree....except Murphy last night when he didn't pinch hit for Frelick🙃

You could make an argument that our "ace" is the worst pitcher in the rotation and that's saying something considering we have Keuchel and Civale.

I think he said exactly that during spring training, no?

What's the over/ under on Peralta tonight   4 2/3 innings tonight  with 2 earned runs , 103 pitches.

Well , sorta close! Just another crap outing by our supposed ace!

On the bright side Civale  pitched pretty good last night!

Wouldn't mind seeing Freddy in the pen if we could find a number 1-2 starter. He just doesn't profile as a guy who is even going to give you 5 innings so why try? Let him throw 98 for 2 and get him out.

Hoskins reminds me of the biggest kid on the rec team.  It flies when he gets one but he just swings at everything.

Was thinking the exact same thing ! Two innings of 50 pitches and zero runs!

Hoskins' stat line for June is so bizarre. 133/250/467/717. He has gone 4-30 but 3 of those hits have been homers and the other one was a double. I know we wanted a power-hitting 1B but this is extreme
