Plenty of people here were going out of their way to tell us this wasn't a bad deal at all. I wonder if they still feel the same way.

Junis has a 7.36 era for the Reds and Wiemer was called up and subsequently demoted. If anything it’s reallocating a bunch of spare parts that won’t amount to anything with either team.

It was an absolute waste of money,

Looks like the Reds and Cards will be tied for second after tonight.

Both are 4 games behind the last wild card spot.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

And Weimer is 2 for 22 with 8ks with Louisville.

Montas hasn't really even been bad this game apart from the bases loaded walk.

Yeah and Soup pitched great.

Not really, it’s not like there were other players available for the same money they passed on to get Montas.

when you’re only willing to trade crap, what do you think you’re gonna get?

While it would not have helped the pitching they could have gotten Josh Bell for almost nothing.

If Ortiz doesn't botch the first play of the game, he's through 2 scoreless against a good lineup. lmao

Botched Ortiz play and Ohtani missed K has added like 15 pitches to his pitch count.

I don’t hate it yet, mostly because we didn’t give up anything.  A bad outing against the Dodgers doesn’t mean much, they just knocked Skenes around too.  His next 2 starts against the Cards and A’s will be more telling to me.

If we aren't careful Ohtani might hit 40/40 on us before leaving town. I don't know how long he has to do this to dethrone any of the other inner circle candidates for best player of all time but what a player.
