It sure would be nice, but I don’t expect it.  You combine an unlimited payroll with a really good front office, and their roster is just flat out better.  In a playoff series you would need a huge hot streak from us combined with catching them in a cold spell.  It’s baseball so possible, but I wouldn’t bet on it.

Mitchell a lot like Turang.  His bat will take time, but you can tolerate it to an extent when you play above average defense.

I don't hear much Ohtani gambling chatter lately. As someone who probably isn't informed about it enough to form an educated opinion, I'm genuinely curious as to whether he should be banned for life and MLB wants to sweep it under the rug because he's a big star for them, or if he really knew nothing so it isn't like Pete Rose.

Even if he has a small degree of guilt, MLB wants this to go away badly.  They will do, and probably have done all they can to make this disappear, hoping everyone just forgets it ever happened.

The NBA forced Jordan to go play baseball because of gambling. I say force Ohtani to play basketball for a year.
